Day 1: Italy

Today we will travel to Italy.

Day 2: Venice - Opatija (155 km)

Today, we will arrive in Venice and transfer to our hotel in the seaside town Opatija, a gem on Croatia's Adriatic coast, nestled along the striking Gulf of Kvarner. In the afternoon, we will explore the town at our own leisure. We can take a stroll along the Lungomare seafront, enjoying beautiful views of the gulf, sheltered by the rising mountains. Tonight, we will enjoy a welcome drink and dinner with our fellow travelers, followed by a briefing from the tour guide to go over the details of the journey that stands in front of house.
  • Opatija, Croatia

    Opatija is a town in western Croatia, just southwest of Rijeka on the Adriatic coast. Opatija was included in the territory of the Liburni, a pre-Roman Illyrian people. In Roman times, the area was home to several patrician villas connected to the nearby town of Castrum Laureana, the modern Lovran.

Day 3: Opatija

We will spend the day at leisure as we explore the pleasures of Opatija on our own, admiring the area's beautiful foliage and magnificent villas that serve as superb examples of Belle Epoque architecture. We will have the option of joining a tour of the Istrian Peninsula. The tour begins at Pula, which has been a strategic port since Roman times and has a well-preserved amphitheater. Known for its unspoiled natural surroundings, the area has a long tradition of winemaking and shipbuilding. Then, we will continue to the beautiful resort of Rovinj, a delightful fishing port with a historic old town. We will enjoy some time here on our own before returning to Opatija. In the evening, we will explore this charming town that holds a wealth of fine seafood restaurants.

Day 4: Opatija - Zadar - Split (507 km)

Today, we will depart for a long drive along the dramatic Adriatic coastline to Split. On the way, we will stop in the historic old town of Zadar, which contains the ruins of an ancient Roman forum, medieval churches, cosmopolitan cafes and museums. The city has a wonderful mixture of beautiful Roman architecture, Hapsburg elegance and a picture-perfect seafront. We will see St. Donatus Church before driving to Split, a beautiful Croatian seaside town. Upon our arrival in the early evening, we will take a leisurely stroll along the scenic waterfront promenade.

    Located along the Adriatic Sea coast, Zadar is the fifth largest city in Croatia . With a rich history dating back to prehistoric times, visitors can experience Roman inspired architectural buildings like the Roman Forum, cathedrals, libraries, and more.

    The Church of St. Donatus is a church located in Zadar, Croatia. Its name refers to Donatus of Zadar, who began construction on this church in the 9th century and ended it on the northeastern part of the Roman forum.

Day 5: Split - Dubrovnik (505 km)

Today, we will walk along the cobbled streets of the Old Town of Split, featuring historic inner city walls built around the astonishing 4th century Palace of Diocletian. This spectacular palace is one of the largest and best preserved Roman palaces in the world. We will also see the remains of the Roman Peristyle, the unusual Cathedral of St. Dominus and the Temple of Jupiter. We will spend some time exploring the old town on our own before continuing along the coast to the spectacular walled city of Dubrovnik, where we will take in magnificent views of the city known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic." Tonight, we will enjoy dinner at the hotel.

    Palace of Diocletian

    Diocletian's Palace is an ancient palace built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD, that today forms about half the old town and city center of Split, in Croatia. After the Romans abandoned the site, the Palace remained empty for several centuries.

    Cathedral of Saint Domnius

    The Cathedral of Saint Domnius, is the Catholic cathedral in Split, Croatia. The Cathedral of St. Domnius is a complex of a church, formed from an Imperial Roman mausoleum, with a bell tower; strictly the church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and the bell tower to Saint Domnius.

    Temple of Jupiter

    The Temple of Jupiter is a temple in Split, Croatia dedicated to the Jupiter, Ancient Roman God of sky and thunder and king of the Gods. Temple is located in the western part of the Diocletian's palace near the Peristyle, the central square of the imperial complex.

Day 6: Dubrovnik

Today, we will enjoy the many delights of Dubrovnik. The city's splendid medieval ramparts are considered some of the most grandiose fortifications in Europe, and the magnificent Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will take a walking tour through the old town, passing local treasures like the Rector's Palace and the monumental Sponza Palace. Under the Bell Tower in Luza Square stands Orlando's Tower, dedicated to a legendary knight that saved the city in the 9th century. We will continue to the Dominican Monastery, which houses a cultural museum, and the Franciscan Monastery, where we can see one of the world's oldest functioning pharmacies. We will be able to spend the rest of the day at our own leisure.

    Rector's Palace

    The Rector's Palace is a palace in the city of Dubrovnik that used to serve as the seat of the Rector of the Republic of Ragusa between the 14th century and 1808. It was also the seat of the Minor Council and the state administration. Furthermore, it housed an armoury, the powder magazine, the watch house and a prison.

    Sponza Palace

    The Sponza Palace, is a 16th-century palace in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Its name is derived from the Latin word "spongia", the spot where rainwater was collected. The rectangular building with an inner courtyard was built in a mixed Gothic and Renaissance style between 1516 and 1522 by Paskoje Miličević Mihov.

    St Blaise's Church

    The Church of St. Blaise is a Baroque church in Dubrovnik and one of the city's major sights. Saint Blaise (St. Vlaho), identified by medieval Slavs with the pagan god Veles, is the patron saint of the city of Dubrovnik and formerly the protector of the independent Republic of Ragusa.

Day 7: Dubrovnik

Today, we will enjoy our time at leisure exploring Dubrovnik on our own. We can visit the Maritime Museum in St. John's Castle, linger in the historic Old Town, or people-watch at a local cafe. Alternatively, we can join a full-day tour to Montenegro, the "Jewel of the Mediterranean." We will drive towards the stunning Bay of Kotor, the longest and deepest fjord in southern Europe, on our way to the charming coastal town of Perast, where we will take a short boat ride to the 15th century Our Lady of the Rocks Church that is perched on an islet in the bay. We will have some time to admire this fascinating locale before driving to Kotor, a town surrounded by fortress walls. Later, we will return to Dubrovnik, where we will enjoy an evening walk along the cobbled streets.

Day 8: Dubrovnik - Zagreb (10 km)

We will begin our day traveling through the lush vegetation of wooded mountains as we make our way to Zagreb. En the way, we will stop in Pavoko Selo to enjoy lunch. When we arrive in Zagreb in the evening, we will spend time exploring the local shops and head to a restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 9: Zagreb - Bled (208 km)

This morning, we will enjoy a walking tour of Zagreb, which concludes in the Old Town. After getting lunch on our own, we will depart for the lovely city of Bled, set among the Julian Alps. Bled is full of rich, natural beauty and renowned for its mild, healing climate and its thermal lake waters. With its emerald-green lake, picture-perfect island church and medieval castle clinging high onto a rocky cliff, Bled is Slovenia's most popular resort. Tonight, we will enjoy an optional dinner at a charming country inn located in the tiny medieval town of Radovlica.

Day 10: Bled - Ljubljana - Bled (101 km)

This morning, we will drive to Ljubljana to take a sightseeing tour that includes views of the city's open-air market, City Hall, Robba Fountain, the Three Bridges and the local Parliament Building. After enjoying some time at leisure, we will return to Bled for a sightseeing tour that includes a visit to Bled Castle. In the evening, we will enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

    Ljubljana is the capital and largest city in Slovenia, known for its green spaces and student population. The Ljubljanica River curves its way through the city and divides it between the old town and the new commercial center.

    Robba Fountain

    Originally unveiled in 1751, this fountain stands in front of the the city's Town Hall in central Town Square. On of the city's most recognizable landmarks, the statue on the fountain depicts three male figures with jugs.

    Triple Bridge

    Connecting the modern city with the historical medieval town of Ljubljana, this pedestrian limestone bridge gets its name because it is comprised of three walkways across the Ljubljanica River.

    The town hall of the city of Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia, is a Gothic building built in 1484, though it does have some baroque renovations.

Day 11: Bled - Venice (173 km)

We will leave Bled and make our way to Venice for departure flights.

  • Passengers arriving to Venice on Day 2 should select flights that arrive no later than 3:00 pm. Transfers to Opatija, Croatia will depart at approximately 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Opatija is approximately a 3.5 hour drive from the Venice airport. Please arrive to Venice Airport arrival hall 30 minutes prior to your determined transfer time to meet with local representative.
  • Passengers returning from Venice on Day 11 should select flights that depart no earlier than 6:30 am. Bled is approximately a 4 hour drive from the Venice airport. For all flights departing Venice between 6:30 am and 8:00 am the pick-up time from hotel will be at 1:30 am. The last transfer to Venice is approximately 7:00am.

  • PRICES: Prices are per person based upon shared twin room occupancy. All prices are based on current exchange rates and are subject to change without notice. If the US Dollar devalues by 5% or more, operator reserves the right to increase prices accordingly. Prices are correct at time of publication. In case of human or computer error, operator reserve the right to charge for the correct price or service. A full refund will be made to passengers who choose not to pay an increase, provided operator receives a written cancellation within five days of the price increase notification.
  • Fuel Surcharges: All package prices include fuel surcharges based upon prevailing rates at the time of agreements with suppliers. Fuel surcharges are subject to change without notice due to fluctuating oil prices. Operator reserves the right to amend tour prices at any time prior to receiving your final tour payment due to increases in fuel surcharges imposed by suppliers including airlines, cruise lines, motorcoach companies and hotels.     Deposit, Final Payment, and Cancellation penalties may differ for special events, select hotels and tour packages and will be advised at time of booking on your invoice.
  • Reservation Changes:
    Changes to an existing reservation, whatever the cause, will incur $50 per person plus any additional supplier fees. This includes name changes* and removal of any services such as optional tours and transfers. Changes or additions after departure are subject to local rates at the time of amendment and must be paid directly by the passenger to the service provider. There are no refunds for unused services.
  • Contact Information: Passengers are responsible to ensure that operator Travel has the correctly spelled name, address, phone number, email and fax data for all passengers. Names printed on the invoice must exactly match the first and last name written in their passport (middle names or initials are not needed). Operator will not be responsible for passengers who do not receive documents due to inaccurate information.
  • Passports and Visas: Passengers are responsible for ensuring that they have the proper travel documents and MUST CHECK with the respective consulate(s) or visa agency to determine whether any visas or passports are required. Passports are required to be valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel.
  • Children: All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age for children on escorted or guided tours is six. Minimum age for European River Cruises is 12. There is no minimum age on independent packages. Discounts for children sharing a room as third may apply to children under 12.
  • Travel Protection (Insurance): The cost of your trip may increase, due to personal emergencies that may affect your travel plans. Comprehensive trip insurance is therefore highly recommended by operator. Your premium is related to your trip cost, so you don't have to worry about being over-insured.   • Travelers with Disabilities: Tour participants requiring any form of assistance are required to notify operator in writing at the time of reservation, and must be accompanied by an individual responsible for providing those services. Tour managers, guides, drivers or other tour, hotel, ship personnel are not able to provide such assistance. Wheelchairs + Walkers: Due to physical constraints and space limitations, wheelchairs and walkers may not be taken aboard motor coaches and/or river cruise ships. Operator reserves the right to remove any person from a tour or cruise who has not provided the required notification, has not received written confirmation from operator, or does not comply with these regulations. All related expenses, including those to return home, will be borne by the passenger.
  • Hotel Accommodations: All rooms are standard twin-bedded (two single beds) rooms with private facilities, unless you have specifically requested and paid for an upgraded room category. Special requests such as bed types, smoking preference and connecting rooms are subject to availability. Room selection in all cases, unless otherwise reserved, is strictly at the discretion of the hotel's management on a run-of-house basis. Triple rooms consist of standard twin beds plus a sofa/folding bed or cot for third person. The number of persons accommodated does not dictate the room size. Although available at most 4 and 5 star hotels, use of air-conditioning abroad differs greatly from the United States. Many European hotels were built before central air-conditioning was introduced. Air-conditioning is often shut down at night and from the end until the start of the summer months. All hotel rates are based on operator agreements with its suppliers and are not negotiable. Hotel check-in time is generally not before 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is prior to noon. Please be sure that adequate arrangements for accommodations have been taken into consideration when a late night flight is being used. If a day room is included in the itinerary, check-out will normally be 6:00 p.m. We reserve the right to make substitutions with hotels of equal standard. There will be no refunds for any difference in the cost of those accommodations.
  • Meals: As specified in each itinerary. Meals are based on the hotel's or restaurant's buffet or set menu. In general, beverages are not included, unless specifically stated.
  • Transfers: Transfers are provided as indicated for each tour by car, minibus, or motor coach provided airfare is purchased from operator. If you purchase a land-only tour, or if you deviate from the arrival and/or departure dates as stated in the itinerary, you will automatically be billed for the transfer service, which you may advise us to cancel at any time prior to your final tour payment date. Your arrival transfer is guaranteed for up to one hour from your scheduled arrival time in order to compensate for minor delays. Operator or the transfer company will not be responsible for flight delays, for any reason, beyond one hour from your originally scheduled arrival time. In case of a delay, whether due to flight delay or time spent reporting baggage damage or loss, it will be your responsibility to make other transfer arrangements such as a taxi. Transfer costs are not refundable and any additional expenses will be your responsibility.
  • Sightseeing: Will be operated by motor-vehicle, its size dictated by the number of participants. All tours have been designed to accommodate individuals as well as groups. The number of participants may vary during the tour, as operator accommodates travelers arriving on different airlines and on different days of the week. Times listed in itineraries are approximate and meant only as guidelines. It is your responsibility to arrive on time for all scheduled flights, cruises, and package components. Arriving late may be considered a "no-show", in which case you will not be eligible for refund for the unused service(s). We cannot guarantee the number of passengers who will be on any given tour. You may find that you are traveling with a sizeable group or only with your own companions. Services, however, will remain constant no matter the number of tour participants. On dates including, but not limited to religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed. On these occasions, touring itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures. Occasionally, during holidays and certain periods, due to unforeseen circumstances there may be last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival, in the sequence of the tour and/or hotels. Therefore, we reserve the right to adjust the sequence and/or substitute any hotels with others of similar category. In such cases there will be no cost adjustment.
  • Rail: Rail tickets are valid for the dates and times specified and once issued are non-refundable. The possibility of date and/or time changes once issued is strictly subject to availability and may by accompanied by rate increases.
  • Optional Sightseeing Tours: A limited selection of optional sightseeing tours are available for purchase at any time until the final payment due date. Those associated with escorted and guided programs will be available for purchase locally based upon availability. Some optional tours require a minimum number of participants and may not be operated; in such cases, the tour company will attempt to notify you locally, and you will receive a full refund upon your return home. Optional tours may be conducted in more than one language.
  • Non-Operation of Escorted Tour: Escorted tour packages are based upon a minimum number of participants. Cancellation of any tour for lack of participation will be advised at least 30 days prior to the tour's departure, and all money will be refunded. Operator will not be held responsible for any costs relating to the issuance and/or cancellation of airline tickets or visa fees. Voluntary cancellations due to political instability, acts of terrorism, government intervention or US State Department warning will be subject to the above fees, provided the program is deemed (by operator) able to continue. Should operator elect to cancel a departure for any of these reasons, every effort will be made to obtain refunds from suppliers, however no guarantees can be provided on their behalf.
  • Group Harmony: To ensure the desired group synergy, operator reserves the right to accept, reject or expel any individual who is deemed disruptive or incompatible with the interests of the group. All expenses to do so will be borne by the passenger.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: All customer service issues must be submitted in writing and received no later than 30 days following your return. Claims for refund of undelivered services must be accompanied by payment receipt(s) and local documentation. There will be no refunds for unused package tour services or features, including missed transfers due to airline changes and/or missed flights, unused meals, missed sightseeing tours, unused entrance fees, and accommodations. Airline flight cancellations and delays for any reason are not the responsibility of operator. Submit your claim directly to the airline. Operator does not guarantee airline response. Eligible airline tickets may only be refunded once the original paper coupons are returned to operator via a trackable overnight package; e-tickets do not need to be returned. Lost paper tickets have no refund value. Processing of claims will take up to eight weeks from the date operator receives relevant documents. These terms may not be changed by anyone other than an authorized representative of operator and must be documented in writing. Operator is not obliged to guarantee promises (written or verbal) made by local hotel staff, tour guides, or any other persons not under direct employ of operator.
  • RESPONSIBILITY: Operator and its representatives abroad act only as independent contractors acting on behalf of neither the customer nor the suppliers and principals. All exchange orders, coupons, and tickets, whether paper or electronic, are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which such means of transportation, accommodations, and other services are offered or provided. The issuance and acceptance of such documents shall be deemed to be consent to the further conditions. Operator does not own nor operate the hotels, motor coaches, airlines, cruise lines, or any other service providers which compose their tours, and will not be held responsible for changes and/or cancellations for any reason by airlines, hotels or cruise ships.
  • The Travel Agent and/or Tour Operator, shall not be in any way liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity in any vehicle, or through the act of default of any company, or person engaged in conveying passengers, or of any hotel proprietor, personnel, servant or any other person otherwise in connection therewith. Operator shall not be held responsible for potential risks and hazards associated with travel to destinations included in this brochure, where injury, delay, or unanticipated events may occur. Operator shall not assume responsibility for standards of quality, hygiene, political stability, cuisine, sanitation facilities, diseases or viruses contracted while traveling for any cause, cleanliness, telecommunications facilities, methods of conducting business, emergency medical evacuation, treatment, or medical services found in these destinations. Travel to these areas may entail risks including but not limited to the hazards of traveling in politically unstable areas, civil disturbances, war, and arbitrary changes mandated by government authorities or private concerns. It is the responsibility of the passenger(s) to check with the U.S. State Department, Consular Information, click here for any current advisories and updates to the destinations on their itinerary. Operator shall be held harmless from any and all liability in connection with the foregoing. Operator cannot accept responsibility for loss or expense due to delay or changes in transportation schedule or other causes. Operator shall not be held responsible for potential loss of services due to inclement weather conditions.
  • Any and all disputes and matters whatsoever arising under, in connection with or incident to these Terms and Conditions, to the brochure, to the website, or any other information relating in any way to the trip, or to the trip itself, shall be litigated before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, or as to those lawsuits to which the Federal Courts of the United States lack subject matter jurisdiction, before a court located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. to the exclusion of the courts of any other county, state or country. Any suit to recover on any such claim is waived unless filed within 180 days after the date of departure, and unless served on operator within 120 days after filing.
