Heading out from the pier in Ushuaia on a beautiful catamaran, we will sail through the bay into the center of Beagle Channel, where we will weave through the islands of the Alicia Archipelago, an area inhabited by a large colony of imperial cormorants. We will also have a good chance to see the majestic black-browed albatross, the scua (a type of gull), and the funny-looking steamer duck. We will continue to Les Eclaireurs Archipelago, where we?ll visit Seal Island, home to two playful species of sea lions. Not far from here, we will cruise to another island to look at the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, which guards the entrance to Ushuaia. Then, we will explore Almanza Port (in Argentina) and Williams Port (in Chile). After that, we will enter McKinley Pass, heading towards Martillo Island, where we can observe a colony of Magellanic penguins at work and play. We will then continue to Estancia Ranch, where we will enjoy a short tour of this historical settlement. At the end of our walk, we will enjoy a traditional Argentine barbecue before returning to Ushuaia by motor coach.
