Guests will fly from Mexico City to Tuxtla Gutierrez in the state of Chiapas. They will be met by a tour representative who will help them transfer to San Cristobal de las Casas, where we will spend the night.
Day 2 San Cristobal de Las Casas - Sumidero Canyon
Today, we will transfer by boat to Sumidero Caynon where we might be able to see crocodiles. Later, after we have docked, we will visit the village of Chiapas de Corzo for an hour of free time. In the evening, we will return to San Cristobal.
San Cristóbal de las Casas is a town and municipality located in the Central Highlands region of the Mexican state of Chiapas. Most of the city’s economy is based on tourism. Major landmarks of the city include the Cathedral, the Santo Domingo church with its large open air crafts market and the Casa Na Bolom museum.
Day 3 San Cristobal - Chamula - Zinancantan
At 9:00am, a local guide will meet us at the hotel and help us transfer to Zinancantan to get a taste of the local culture. We will get the chance to interact with the Mayan people who still inhabit the area. Afterwards, we will go to San Juan Chamula to see the majestic church that combines elements of Mayan and Catholic religions.
Day 4 San Cristobal - Montebello Lakes - Chiflon Waterfalls
Today at 6:00am, we will drive to the Montebello Lakes, where we will have free time to swim in the crystal-clear waters. Later, we will go to the Chiflon Waterfalls, where we will take a one hour hike. Later, we will return to San Cristobal for the evening.
Day 5 San Cristobal - Palenque
Today, we will drive to the archaeological site at Palenque to explore the ruins here. Later, we will transfer to Misol Ha Park, full of impressive waterfalls, where we can take a relaxing swim. Our last stop of the day will be Agua Azul. We should not miss our chance to swim in this beautiful locale. We will spend the night in Palenque Village.
Day 6 Palenque
We will have the day free to explore Palenque.
Day 7 Palenque - Campeche(302 km)
Around 9:00am this morning, we will take a bus from Palenque to Campeche, where we will spend the night.
Day 8 Campeche
We will have the day free to explore the city of Campeche on our own. This colonial city is full of interesting museums.
In 1540 the Spanish built the city on the town of Maya.In the early 19th century, Campeche became the capital of Yucatan and then became the state capital in 1867.All of Campeche is limestone low terrace.Higher in the north and west, there are lower hills more than 200 meters above sea level.
Day 9 Campeche - Merida(317 km)
In the morning, we will board a bus to Merida. The drive will last for about 4 hours. When we arrive, we will have the remainder of the day free at our own leisure.
Merida is the capital of Mexico's Yucatan state.It is located in the northwest of the state, about 35 kilometers (22 miles) from the gulf of Mexico.In 2003, the city had a population of 793,000, ranking 11th in all the Mexico.
Day 10 Merida - Yucatan
Today, we will take a bus tour to some of the most fascinating geological sites on the Yucatan peninsula, such as the great cenotes, and some of the lovely haciendas in the area.
Day 11 Merida - Chichen Itza - Cancun(313 km)
Today, we will go to Chichen Itza, the most famous Mayan archaeological site, where an expert local guide will help immerse us in this ancient culture. After the tour, guests will take a First class public bus to Cancun centre, where the journey will come to an end.
The most famous Mayan archaeological site, was a major focal point in the Northern Maya Lowlands from the Late Classic through the Terminal Classic and into the early portion of the Postclassic period.
