Day 1: Turin

After meeting with the guide in the hotel hall, you will have a guided walking tour of Turin passing attractions such as : Piazza Castello, Palazzo Madama, Piazza San Carlo, the "Living Room of Turin", "Historical cafés", and elegant shopping streets. Then we will go to visit Piazza Carignano and Museum of Cinema, where you can climb up to the pinnacle and admire the breathtaking view on the rooftops. During the city tour, you will stop to fill your energy with the famous drink of Turin "the Bicerin". Free time to hang around a little more before going back to the hotel and having dinner.

    Piazza Castello
    Located in the Italian city of Turin, Piazza Castello is a square dating back to the 14th century that features beautiful fountains and statues. The center of the square features the Palazzo Madana: the ancient castle from which the square takes its name.

    Palazzo Madama

    This palace in Turin was the first Senate in the Italian Kingdom. There has been a building at this site dating all the way back to the end of the Roman Empire, when it was part of the city's fortifications.

    Museum of Cinema

    The National Museum of Cinema is an Italian motion picture museum, fitted out inside the Mole Antonelliana tower. It offers visitors continuous and unexpected visual and acoustic stimuli, just like when we watch a film that involves and moves us.

    Piazza Carignano

    Piazza Carignano, the birthplace of the Renaissance, and the Teatro Regio, one of the Savoy's family favorite places for entertainment. It is a historical building in the centre of Turin, which houses the Museum of the Risorgimento.

Day 2: Turin - Barolo - La Morra - Alba (68 km)

After breakfast, we will go to the Real Palace of Venaria Reale for a 2-hour private tour of the Palace with our English speaking guide. In the end, you will have time to explore the gardens on your own. In the old city centre you can stop for eating in one of the typical restaurant that serves Piedmontese specialities.

In the afternoon we will proceed to Langhe area. We'll at Barolo for a visit to one of the oldest winery in the area. The tour will take you to the cellars and Barrique room, where you will have a wine tasting. You will visit one Don't miss the WiMu wine museum and the museum of corkscrews.

On the way back we will stop in La Morra for admiring an incredible view from the panoramic square in the centre of the village. Overnight at Alba.

    The tiny, 1800-hectare parcel of undulating land immediately around this hilltop village knocks out what is arguably the finest vino in Italy and currently the next big thing with anglophone collectors.

    Atop a hill surrounded by vines with the Alps as a backdrop, La Morra is bigger and quieter than Barolo, though no less beguiling. The village's cantina comunale (communal wine seller) provides lists of places to do tastings.

Day 3: Alba - Mombarcaro - Alba (54 km)

In the morning you will have some free time to visit the Grinzane Cavour castle and Alba city centre. Departure to Mombarcaro for the first gourmet visit of the day! We'll have a Cheese Experience from 12:30pm and a Nocciola Discovery from 3:30pm.

    Built on a hill, it keeps one of the most interesting historical centres of Alta Langa. It is a holiday centre for those who love country tourism, made by walks trough the woods and quiet.

    Cheese Experience

    From sheep at pasture, to the cheese-making workshop and the tasting of fresh and more mature cheeses. Tour of the dairy, pastures, stables and educational farm including tasting of cheeses made from three kinds of milk, a glass of wine and organic bread.

    Nocciola Discovery

    Guided tour of a small farm in Alta Langa, from hazelnut grove to the production of choice sweets, learning some of the secrets of so intense and lingering a flavour. A tasting rounds off the tour with a delicious experience to cherish among the "sweetest" souvenirs of your trip.

Day 4: Alba

10:00 am Meeting with the Truffle expert and its English speaking assistant in the hotel hall
3:00 pm Enjoy a guided wine tasting at Ceretto winery
In the evening we will have a special Piedmontese gourmet dinner in a family run restaurant in the area. Return to Alba.

    Experience the real truffle hunting with dogs in the hills around Alba. An expert "trifulau" will take you to the hidden places where truffle grows. The search could take up to 1 hour. After that relax with a glass of wine and taste some truffle based specialities at a nearby wine producer.

Day 5: Alba - Barbaresco - Neive - Canelli (19 km)

After breakfast, we will departure to the Barbaresco area, visit one of the small villages of Barbaresco and Neive. You can stop in Neive for lunch and for a wine tasting of the Barbaresco wine. Then we will proceed towards Canelli to visit the "Underground Cathedral" of wine. Then we will visit cellars and have a wine tasting (approximately 90 minutes).

    Canelli is the Italian Capital of sparkling white wine. The village's history of the wine is still evident today with the popular synonym of Muscat Canelli that is still used for the Moscato grape used to produce the wine.

    The aging cellars of Canelli sparkling wine are true underground cathedrals, built under the city, masterpieces of engineering and winemaking architecture. Millions of bottles are left to ferment at a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees assuming the aromas and flavours of the sparkling wine and of the Canelli wine.

Day 6: Asti - Vercelli - Turin (113 km)

After breakfast, check out and depart for the city of Asti, where you can start your day from the Cathedral. Don't miss a "sweet stop" in Pasticceria Giordanino. During the day you can enjoy a great lunch in one of the many gourmet restaurants in the centre.

Proceed towards Vercelli (about 1 h driving) for a visit to a small jem - a medieval Abbey that hosts one of the oldest Rice producer estates.

3:00 pm Private visit with English speaking guide. You will discover the medieval part of the Abbey - including the Cloister, The Chapter House together with the estate where you will find out about the various phases of rice cultivation and production.

    A spectacular panorama of rice paddies characterize Vercelli, one of Europe's leading rice producers. The city is situated on the river Sesia in the plain of the river Po between Milan and Turin.

    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
