Day 1

This tour is perfect for newcomers to Siena! Along the way, we will visit all the historical and cultural landmarks of the town, from the world-famous Piazza del Campo and the historical building of the Monte dei Paschi Bank to the Palazzo Tolomei or the Palazzo Chigi Saracini. The tour will also include a visit to the Basilica Cateriniana San Domenico, where masterpieces by Michelangelo, Bernini, Donatello, and Giovanni Pisano await.

Siena, ITALY

Famous for its cuisine, art, museums, medieval cityscape, and the Palio, an annual horse race, Siena is a city in Italy, and one of the country's most visited tourist attractions. Its historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Piazza del Campo

The heart of Siena's historic district, the Piazza del Campo is a large open square marketplace that has retained its medieval appeal. In Il Campo is the Fonte Gaia, an ornately sculpted fountain that mixes Christian and Roman imagery.

Palazzo Tolomei

This Gothic palace in urban Siena is an imposing structure overlooking the piazza below. One of the oldest buildings in the city, the palace was built by the Tolomei family between 1205 and 1212.

Palazzo Chigi Saracini

This Gothic palace has sat in the city center of Siena since its construction by the Marescotti family in the 12th century. The facade in front is slightly curved to match the street it is on.

Basilica Cateriniana San Domenico

This basilica in Siena was built in the 13th century. In the 14th century, it was enlarged. The interior is simple in design, preferring substance over style.

Cancellation Policy: Total refund fro cancellation at least 48 hours before the visit; for further cancellations and no shows, the cost of the tour minus the reservation fee can be refunded. The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
