Day 1: Shanghai

Upon your arrival in Shanghai by flight/bullet train, the driver will wait for you at the exit of the arrival hall/train station by holding a sign with your name and then transfer to the hotel for check in. We can enjoy our free time for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Shanghai

After picked up from the hotel in the early morning, we will head to the Jade Buddha Temple. Then we will pay a short visit to a Fresh Water Pearl Gallery to appreciate some fine pearl artworks. Afterwards, we will stroll on the People Square to have a glimpse of the daily life of the locals. Next, we will head to visit the Shanghai Museum.
After lunch, we will move on to the Yuyuan Garden. Then we will wander around Shanghai Old Street which combines sightseeing, shopping, entertainment and cultural exhibition. The next stop is the Bund. We will admire buildings of various styles, enjoy the beautiful Huangpu River, and listen to the guide explaining its history. After a leisure walk at the Bund, we will visit the Silk Factory to see how the silk is processed. Then we will visit former French Concession, a perfect place to learn the history of Shanghai from 1849 to 1943. The last stop of today is the Xin Tian Di, a walking street converted based on the old Shikumen building district. After that, our driver will escort us back to hotel for a good rest.

    This waterfront area in Shanghai is a popular spot for visitors to the city and locals alike, stretching about one mile along the Huangpu River. There are 52 buildings along the Bund that showcase a diverse range of architectural styles.

    Xintiandi

    Translating to “New Heaven and Earth,” this car-free entertainment district in Shanghai offers shopping and eating opportunities for residents and tourists alike. The area is a refurbished shikumen with narrow alleys full of shops.

Day 3: Shanghai - Suzhou - Shanghai (169 km)

In the morning we will meet with our guide and driver at the hotel lobby and then head to Suzhou. The first stop is the Net Master Garden. Then we will visit the Ancient City Wall. Then we will move on to the Grand Canal. We will also stop at a Silk Spinning Factory to learn something about silk spinning. After lunch, we will get to the last site of today - Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water towns in China. We will take a pleasant cruise by Chinese style gondola, going through stone bridges and passing by antique folk houses on the banks. Finally we will go back to hotel.

Day 4: Shanghai - Xian (1384 km)

After picked up from hotel in the early morning, we will transfer to the Shanghai train station and take a bullet train to Xian (G360/8:36AM - 2:32PM or similar). When we arrive in Xian, our guide will greet us at the passenger service center by holding a name sign. Then we will directly go to Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square in Xian. Next, we will go to the famous Muslim Street, which is a paradise for food lovers where we will find all kinds of delicious local snacks. After sampling some popular dishes, we will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Finally, we will be transferred to local hotel to check-in.

    Bell Tower of Xi'an

    Drum Tower of Xi'an

    The Drum Tower got its name from the huge drum located within the building. In contrast to the Bell Tower, where bell was stricken at dawn, drum was beat at sunset to indicate the end of the day.Erected in 1380 during the early Ming Dynasty, it stands towering above the city center and offers incredible view of Xi'an.

    Muslim Street

    Muslim Street is a historically unique place to wander, shop and eat. All shops and restaurants in the street are operated by Muslims. Culturally fragrant and fantasticstalls inside the narrow alleys sell almost everything you can imagine. Enjoy a taste of Muslim street food, a very tasty and inexpensive gourmet discovery which includes the locals' favorite: Roasted beef, roasted fish, and pancakes.

    Big Wild Goose Pagoda

    Built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is an ancient Buddhist temple and must-see tourist attraction. Standing 54 meters (177 feet) tall, this sacred building is a beautiful representation of ancient architecture, tradition, and history.

Day 5: Xian

Depart from hotel in the morning, we will head to the Terracotta Warriors Museum. Before exploring the museum, we will first make a short visit to a Terracotta Figurine Factory where we will have opportunity to buy warrior imitations as souvenirs. Then our guide will show us around the Terracotta Warriors Museum. After lunch, we will go back to downtown Xian to visit the City Wall. We can choose to take a bike on own expenses on the top of city wall and enjoy the amazing view of the entire area inside the City Wall. After that, we will transfer to the hotel.

    Terracotta Warrior

    Terracotta Warrior
    A collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210-209 BCE and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife.

    Biking on the City Wall

    The bike riding is on the top of Xi'an City Wall. By taking this we can enjoy the amazing view of the entire city area.

Day 6: Xian

Today the driver will pick us up from hotel and then transfer to the airport or train station for departure flight or bullet train. Please refer to the "Departure & Return" for more details.

    Meeting point for arrival flight on Day 1, the driver will wait at the exit of the arrival hall holding a name sign upon flight arrival; for departure flight on Day 6, the driver will pick up at the hotel lobby by holding a name sign and transfer to airport.

    Return time on Day 1 depends on your flight or train schedule.
    Return time on Day 2 is about 5:00pm.
    Return time on Day 3 is about 7:00pm.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person policy:
    (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    40 days or more prior to departure - No penalty.
    15-39 days prior to departure - 30% of total purchase amount.
    7-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    2-6 days prior to departure - 70% of total purchase amount.
    Within 2 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
