Day 1 San Francisco - Yosemite National Park - Fresno(228 miles)

Today we will head to Yosemite National Park. Breathtaking scenery like the Bridal Veil Fall, El Capitan, Merced River, Half Dome, and Yosemite Falls will immerse your senses and bring you back to nature. The Yosemite Valley is one of the most visited spots in America, so make sure you bring plenty of films! Spend the night in Fresno.

*Please note: During the winter season, if Yosemite park is closed due to snow, we will go to Monterey Bay without prior notice. Guests cannot cancel or reschedule the tour without penalty for this reason.

Yosemite National Park in central California is best known for the amazing granite cliffs of the Yosemite Valley as well as the towering Yosemite Falls and Sequoias. Millions of people every year journey to this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Always Visit
If the wind is strong enough, the cascading waters of Bridal Veil Falls appear to be falling sideways, making this 617-foot waterfall one of the most popular natural attractions in Yosemite.
  • Always Visit
Even the most experienced rock climbers find difficulty on the treacherous slopes of El Capitan, the world's largest granite monolith. The summit can be reached by a hiking trail out of Yosemite Valley.

Once considered insurmountable, Yosemite's Half Dome is a granite formation, one of the park's most recognizable attractions. A steep trail now leads to the summit, but the journey is arduous, so those wishing to reach it should come prepared.
  • Always Visit
The Merced River cuts through Yosemite National Park on its route from Nevada to Central California. Visitors to the park can enjoy hiking along the river banks or rafting down its rapids.
  • Always Visit
Tunnel View is a scenic outlook in Yosemite National Park, offering what is probably the most photographed view in the park as Yosemite Valley stretches out before the eyes.
  • Always Visit
The highest waterfall in North America and the seventh highest in the world, Yosemite Falls is a three-stage waterfall that has a height of 2,425 feet. Its three sections are the Upper Falls, the Middle Cascades, and the Lower Falls.

I absolutely loved it! I didn't want to mention the name, but I simply can't because without the help of this wonderful tour guide, Dennis, for us, the entire experience could've been miserable. There are few other tour guides we came across when switching buses at the beginning & end of the trip, but none were as fluent in English as Dennis. Not only did the other tour guides speak mainly in Chinese, they spoke English very minimally. Dennis was primarily focusing on the non-Chinese passengers in our bus & that made our experience as non-Chinese people wonderful. My friends who went with me were very grateful that somehow we had Dennis as our tour guide. We were also informed that not all the buses that were to go for this tour made it to the Hoover Dam, but Dennis made sure that we make the trip there on our way back from Grand Canyon. Moreover, he even took polls in the bus to ensure he goes by the majority's opinion, which was really great gesture, I thought. We went during December-January period, so even though it was colder, it wasn't so cold that it was impossible to hit some of the destinations in this itinerary. Accommodation was also great in some of the lovely hotels in Las Vegas & others. Dennis also gave us the opportunity to roam around LV in the night time by ourselves so that places he had shown during the day & night/evening could be explored more in-depth by individuals who are interested. I thought this was really a great gesture. I also liked how he kept everything on schedule with early morning leaves from hotels. Even though I felt some of the passengers were getting cocky about it, it was absolutely necessary to make sure we don't get caught by traffic & reach our destinations in a timely fashion. The bus driver was also great who kept us entertained with a list of movie selections in her drawer. I can't imagine this trip's success without Dennis. (Period)

Good tour overall. My mom and aunt 70+ enjoyed the tour. I would recommend it. Some things that can be improved - toilets on the buses should be operational even though they were stopping regularly. Also there were bus changes which is bit inconvenient.

I recommend this tour!

Overall experience was great. The bus ride was very smooth and the hotels are decent. The tour guide James was awesome, informative, and handled timings very well.I highly recommend this tour to anyone who want to see a lot in a short time and do not have their own vehicle. Just follow the instructions of the tour guide to get the best out of the tour. We opted out of the Vegas night tour and self visited attractions on the Las Vegas strip as we already have an idea of places.
