Balancing Rock is not going to be there forever. You can see it has a "waist" between its top and bottom, and natural erosion is slowly but surely putting that waist on a diet. Some day, it will lose its balance, and tumble to the depths below. But you'll have that cool photo showing that you "held the thing up" when it needed you most!
  • Always Visit
Baldwin Beach stretches for a half mile, with breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada mountains soaring in the distance. Unlike other Tahoe beaches, it great for swimming. There's also a nice paved trail that runs through the forest nearby; it's great for walking, running, or biking.

It's a skier's paradise - topping off at over 10,000 feet of elevation and boasting the biggest snow-making system in the West, but it's also an amazing year-round place to find the perfect adventure for you
  • Always Visit
The Truckee River supplies essential water to the cities of Reno and Sparks and there's amazing fly fishing to be had (native Lahontan Cutthroat Trout swim alongside brown and rainbow trout). And there's fun whitewater rafting, which is actually tame enough for the whole family.
  • Always Visit
It's a magnificent 38-room stone castle. You'll learn how workers used local timber for the building's ornate carvings. You'll see the locally-quarried stone which forms the building's impressive walls, towers, and turret. Check out the amazing sod roofs-with living grass and flowers!
