Day 1 San Francisco-Monterey-Carmel-San Francisco(243 miles)

In the morning, we will head to Monterey Bay, one of California's oldest, most charming cities. We will visit Cannery Row, a former fishing ground and now an array of art galleries, boutique shops and resorts. At their own expense, guests can also choose to visit the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, which attracts over 1.8 million visitors every year. After lunch, we will ride along 17 Mile Drive, the most famous scenic stretch along California State Highway 1. The prominent Chinese painting master Daqian Zhang once lived in this area. On this drive, we will pass the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course. Finally, we will arrive in the town of Carmel, a paradise with a beautiful environment and an elegant atmosphere that has attracted countless artists and poets. In the evening, we will return to San Francisco.

Monterey was the capital of Alta California under both Spain and Mexico. It was the only port of entry for taxable goods in California. In 1846 the U.S. flag was raised over the Customs House, and California became part of the United States after the ensuing Mexican-American War.
