Day 1: Hometown - Salt Lake City

Our journey will start at the SLC airport, where guests can take the hotel's free shuttle. About a 10-minute drive away, the hotel shuttle takes you to the hotel. Stay overnight in Salt Lake City.

Day 2: Salt Lake City - Jackson - Grand Teton - Yellowstone (330 miles)

In the morning, we will head to the small town of Jackson, WY. Afterwards we will head into Grand Teton National Park to take in the view of Jackson Lake and Teton Peak. From there, we will take you into the Yellowstone National Park. We will see 10 of Yellowstone's major scenery sites over the spans of 2 days, including Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone Lake and Fountain Paint Pot. Spend the night in West Yellowstone.

Please note before May 8, 2020 we will not visit the Town of Jackson and Grand Teton National Park. We will replace with the Yellowstone Bear World and Idaho Fall. The mandatory fees will be unchanged without refund.

    The third largest hot spring in the world, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring gets its color from bacteria around its rim that feed off of the mineral-rich water. In the summer months, the hot spring is a vivid red-orange shade.

    Yellowstone Lake

    At 7,732 feet in the air, Yellowstone Lake is the largest freshwater lake above 7,000 feet in all of North America. This large, crystalline lake is a hotbed of geothermal activity and also contains underwater hot springs.

    Fountain Paint Pot

    Fountain Paint Pot, heated by the region's underground hot springs, F.P.P is half hot spring, half mud basin. The spring releases natural shades of red and yellow because of the oxidation of iron in the soil.

Day 3: Yellowstone - Buffalo Bill Dam - Gillette (273 miles)

In the morning we will continue our tour inside Yellowstone National Park, visiting Norris Basin, Yellowstone Canyon, Yellowstone Waterfall, Mud Volcano, Fishing Bridge, Hayden valley. After we all finished those amazing attractions, will exit the park from the east entrance to Buffalo Bill Dam. We will arrive and spend the night at Gillette, Wyoming.

    Norris Geyser Basin

    Yellowstone National Park is full of areas like this - geyser basins - large, open areas where geothermic pressure from below the ground's surface force up various geysers and springs. The Norris Basin is one of the more accessible.

    Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

    This impressive gap in the earth in the first large canyon on the Yellowstone River. It is 24 miles long, and can reach a quarter-mile in depth and 3/4 a mile in width. It is gorgeously colored.

    Upper Yellowstone Falls

    Upper Yellowstone Falls
    Located a quarter-mile upstream of the larger Lower Falls, the Upper Yellowstone River Falls plunge 109 feet down an eroded lava cliff into the basin below. The area below the falls has been subject to heavier erosion than above.

    Mud Volcano Area

    The Mud Volcano blew itself apart in the early 20th century, but visitors can still see the impressive crater and other geothermal features in the surrounding area, such as the Mud Cauldron, Black Dragon's Caldron, and Dragon's Mouth Spring.

    Duration: Approx. 25 Minutes

    Fishing Bridge

    Located near the mouth of the Yellowstone River, the Fishing Bridge is a great location to spot the native Cutthroat trout. There is an RV park of the same name nearby.

    Due to the Fishing Bridge is under repair and no parking is available since July 9 2019, we will replace it with the Gibbon Falls. When to reopen is subject to the attraction notice.

    Named for William Cody (AKA Buffalo Bill), who helped found the town, this small city in Wyoming lies to the east of Yellowstone National Park. Many parts of Cody still have the feel of the Old West.

    Buffalo Bill Dam

    Named after the famous Western showman, this dam is part of the Shoshone Project which irrigates the Bighorn Basin for crop production in the region. Standing at 325 feet high, Buffalo Bill Dam is as much an engineering site as it is scenic.

Day 4: Gillette - Devil's Tower - Mount Rushmore - Crazy Horse - Casper (424 miles)

Arrive at Devil's Tower in the morning and see this famous Wyoming landmark. Afterwards we'll head into South Dakota to visit the Mount Rushmore Memorial, where you can take a walk along the Presidential Trail getting right underneath the sculptures of the presidents. After lunch, we will arrive at the Crazy Horse Memorial. Enjoy the view of the endless grassy fields of Wyoming as we traffic to Casper to spend the night.

    The first declared United States National Monument. It'is an igneous intrusion or laccolith located in the Black Hills near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County. A monolithic rock formation that rises 1,267 feet above the surrounding land and was once the neck of an active volcano.

    This massive monolith in the Black Hills of Wyoming was the nation's first national monument, anointed by Teddy Roosevelt in 1906. In recent years, climbing the rock has become popular. The stone column is considered sacred by many Native Americans.

    Crazy Horse Memorial is the world's largest sculpture-in-progress, and frequent drilling and mountain blasts make each visit unique. When completed, Crazy Horse Memorial will stand 563 feet tall by 641 feet long.

Day 5: Casper - Park City - Salt Lake City (421 miles)

We will arrive first at Independence Rock. We will get to Utah around noon time and take you to see the Olympic Village for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Park City. In the afternoon we will see the State Capitol building, Temple Square of Mormon Church and the Great Salt Lake when we get to Salt Lake City.

    Casper is a city in and the county seat of Natrona County, Wyoming, United States. Casper is also called "The Oil City" and has a long history of oil boomtown and cowboy culture. In 2010, Casper was named the highest-ranked family-friendly small city in the West, and ranked eighth overall in the nation in Forbes magazine's list of "the best small cities to raise a family".

    Independence Rock

    This granite monolith sits in the Independence Rock State Historic Site in central Wyoming. The rock served as an important landmark for those travelling west via the Oregon Trail in the middle of the 19th century.

    This quaint little mountain town got its start as a mining settlement. These days, it annually hosts the Sundance Film Festival, founded by actor and director Robert Redford. In the winter, it is a popular ski destination.

    Utah Olympic Park

    This sports park was made for the 2002 Winter Olympics, featuring components for several of the different events: jumps for skiing, bobsled tracks, and luge tracks. It now serves as a training center for would-be Olympians.

After breakfast, we will take the hotel shuttle bus to the Salt Lake City airport.

  • A mandatory service fees for tour guide and bus driver: total $10.00/day per passenger and $10.00 per passenger for airport transfer.

  • Mandatory fees are part of the tour fares which customers are obligated to pay on the tour. If any customer refuses to pay mandatory fees, we reserve the right to terminate service with no refund.

  • Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.

Confirmation

  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book airline tickets until you receive the confirmation.

Redemption

  • You will receive a confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is processed. Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of the reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Take tours for details.
  • Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted)
    30 or more days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount
    15-29 days or more prior to departure - 25% of the total purchase amount.
    10-14 days prior to departure - 30% of total purchase amount.
    6-9 days prior to departure - 50% of the total purchase amount.
    Within 5 days prior to departure or no show - 100% of the total purchase amount.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit the entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every effort to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.
  • Hotel Policy
    Smoking is strictly prohibited at all hotels, violation of this rule will result in a penalty of $300/person, along with other legal liabilities. A valid credit card is required for guests to check in at the hotel.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strive to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods, duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
