Day 1 Vatican City

Today, we will tour the Vatican Museum complex, which includes Michelangelo's unparalleled Sistine Chapel and Raphael's Rooms, as well as a collection of museums on very diverse subjects: displays of classical statuary, Renaissance painting, Etruscan relics, Egyptian artifacts, not to mention the furnishings and decoration of the palace itself. After visiting the Sistine Chapel, the visit continues with a tour of St. Peter's Basilica.

This small country, surrounded by the larger city of Rome, is the center of the Catholic Church and home of the Pope. Famous sights are St. Peter's Square and the Basilica, as well as the Vatican Museum.
