Day 1 Reykjavik-Thingvellir National Park-Hveragerdi-Golden Circle-Langjokull-Reykjavik

After guests have been picked up from their hotels in Reykjavik, we will begin this tour. Our first stop will be Thingvellir National Park, where the country's first parliament was founded in 930 AD. From here, we will head down the mountain to explore the geothermal area around the Geysir hot spring. Next, we will make our way to the Gullfoss Waterfall. After this, we will make our way to Langjokull, the country's second largest glacier. After such an action-packed day, we will make our way back to Reykjavik, stopping on the way for a photo stop at Caldera Kerid. When we get back to the capital, the tour will come to an end. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.

Thingvellir National Park is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most popular tourist destination in Iceland. Thingvellir has unusual tectonic and volcanic geological features and visitors can enjoy a wide array of activities including camping, hiking, and scuba diving.

Hveragerdi, located in the Southland Region of Iceland, is near the Hengill volcano and is known for its geothermal activity and numerous greenhouses. Tourists enjoy outdoor recreation, the Listasafn Arnesinga Art Museum, and more.

  • This volcanic crater lake in Iceland is located in the Grimsnes region, which is known for its geothermic activity. It is approximately 3,000 years old, making it one of the most recognizable craters in the world.

Iceland's Golden Circle is the country's most popular tourist route, featuring several of the top geological formations in the country, such as the geysers of Strokkur and Geysir, as well as the Gullfoss waterfall.

  • Considered the first geyser discovered by modern Europeans, the eruptions of Geysir can send boiling water up to 70 meters in the air. Only 50 meters away is Strokkur, another famous Icelandic geyser.
  • This waterfall in southwest Iceland is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. It is a multi-tiered waterfall, which all empties into a crevice 32 meters deep.

This glacier is the second largest in Iceland. It features many caverns that visitors can explore, allowing them to enter a frozen wonderland beneath the surface.
