Day 3 Reykjavik - Vik- Jokulsarlon(341 km)

We will begin today's voyage by driving along the south coast of Iceland to take in the area?s beauty. Our first stop will be Reynisfjara, a beach known for its beautiful black sands, to admire the strength of the Atlantic Ocean. Be careful of the unpredictable and sometimes deadly surf. Then, we will stop in Vik to see a typical Icelandic village and stock up on snacks before continuing to the Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon. Nearby, we can see Diamond Beach, a black sand beach covered in icebergs that glisten in the sun.

  • Always Visit
The southern coast of Iceland contains a unique surprise for visitors: black sand beaches, formed due to the region's volcanic activity. Reynisfjara in particular has been called the coolest beach in the country.

A large glacial lake in southeast Iceland, on the edge of Vatnajokull National Park. Situated at the head of the Breioamerkurjokull glacier, it developed into a lake after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
