Day 1 Prague-Cesky Krumlov-Ceske Budejovice-Prague(303 km)

Guests will be picked up in Prague to begin this tour. Today, we will travel to the picturesque town of Cesky Krumlov, situated above the meandering valley along the upper Vltava River in Southern Bohemia. Hundreds of historic building can be found in this city from the past, including the Castle and the Church of St. Vitus. Then, we will continue to the city of Ceske Budijovice to see the historic Town Square and the Black Tower. Afterwards, we will return to Prague, where the tour will come to an end. A town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. Its historic centre, centred around the Český Krumlov Castle, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 and was given this status along with the historic Prague castle district.

  • This castle dates back to 1240 when it was built by a powerful branch of the Rosenberg family. It now houses the Cesky Krumlov Baroque Theater, one of the world's best preserved theaters of its kind.
    The castle is closed November 1 - March 31 and Tuesday afrer Easter Monday.
  • This neo-Gothic church in Cesky Krummlov is one of two structures that dominate the city's skyline. The interior features many Baroque stylistic elements.

The largest city in the Czech Republic's South Bohemia region, Ceske Budejovice was established in 1265. It contains many classic examples of Baroque, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture.

  • The main square of this Bohemian city is very colorful. It features many baroque buildings that are painted in pastel tones. This is also where the town hall is located.
  • Located in the town square of Ceske Budejovice, next to the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, one will find the Black Tower, the piece of architecture that dominates the city's skyline. It was built in the 16th century.
