Paris has been a thriving city for more than two thousand years. It is known all over the world as a city of art and romance, from its high-end cafes to the famous visage of the Eiffel Tower.

  • This breathtaking neoclassical arch is one of Paris' most famous monuments. It commemorates those who fought and died in the French Revolution and Napoleonic wars. It also sits atop the Tomb of the Unknown Solider for World War I.
  • Champs Elysees is the name of both an upscale street and shopping district in Paris. It is on the cafes, boutiques, movie theaters, and more. One of the most famous streets of the world, is also known for its many monuments.
  • One of the most famous monuments in the world, the Eiffel Tower has been a symbol of Paris, France, and Europe since 1889. It was erected as the entryway to the 1889 World's Fair, and has been wowing visitors ever since.
  • The largest square in Paris is the Place de la Concorde. On it sit many major Parisian tourist spots, such as Champs-Elysees, the Luxor Obelisk, the Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume and the Musee de l'Orangerie.
  • The River Seine is perhaps the most important waterway in Paris. More than 37 bridges cross its waters within the city alone, and cruises along the River pass by almost every important location and sight in the city.
