My family and I took the bus tour to Lake George, Ausable Chasm, Six Flags Great Escape,and Whiteface Mountain on a 2 days one night stay at a motel from 8/24 to 8/25. The trip itself was good. Our guide, Christy, was friendly and knowledgeable. She kept the tour group entertained and guided us to all the locations on time. We did everything on the itinerary. My complain is for one of the rudest passenger on the bus. She and her friend sat behind my daughter and mom. This lady sat on seat #10 was nonstop talking and loudly bragging about her entire family in Cantonese. They had no consideration for other passengers. They think they are the only ones on the bus. This lady wanted to use the bathroom on the bus and was told that she should not use it. There is no water to flush...this started the argument with the bus driver. She was distracting the driver from doing his job and getting us home safely. This lady and her friend on seat number 9 and 10 should be banned from future tours. She was loud and rude. She was annoying as hell. She had the audacity to play her Chinese music loud and then my dad complained and this moron started to talk loudly again and had her music on. This lady and her friend took the joy of this family trip from us. The bus company should obtain those two ladies names and make a notice for their future trips. From the way #10 talked, she had been on multiple tour trips as she proudly announced to the entire bus, that she has been to so and so...blah blah blah. My 5 year old behaved better than her and her friend.
Trip was great. We left on time. Cruise was cancelled due to rain and lightening. Safety over tourism! Hotel accommodations were not great. The room we got was a smoker's room and that has to be the worst for non-smokers, especially with children in the same room. The room only had 2 towels although we were 4 in a room. We had to pay $7 per person for breakfast and that breakfast was not worth $7. It was the usual breakfast most hotels include in the price. Other than these setbacks, the tour was great!
We reached six flags around 1 pm. We had 4 hours to explore six flags. If you wish to cover entire six flags than I recommend not to spend to much time on the initial rides because it's huge, and you won't be able to figure out how huge it is at first. Water park is at the end of it, and it's a good place to spend time at in summers. Don't wait in long lines for rides/stuff you are not dying to try. Apart from six flags, the mini ha ha cruise was good. The accommodation was fairly good, had no complaints. The ausable chasm was also a good experience, you'd love it if you are into nature and scenic beauties and stuff. River rafting was a cherry on a cake, but I wish it was for a longer duration. The fall at the end way okay, nothing too great about it. The tour guide was also very friendly and helpful, she made sure everyone's on time without rushing to it. Overall it was a good getaway.
We visited Six flags Great Escape in the morning. Got refreshed, we spent the day there. In the noon we had Minhehaha cruise in the evening 6:00PM ride. We stayed Econos Lodge. In the morning we started from Ausable Chasm and later took the gondola to Whiteface Mountain. Later to Lake Placid. Since the weather was not pleasant, the water rafting was closed. We visited a few falls in Lake Placid like High falls gorge and many more. Even I forgot the names.... Trip was good. tour guide was great. Accommodation was also perfect.
