What a beautiful day for a day tour. We were originally suppose to go to one apple picking farm but when we arrived they claim to not take bus tours. So we ended up going to Stuart apple farm. THis was pretty cool, EXCEPT they charge $30 per bag to pick apples. HUH???? that's a bit much. I opted out of this and just walk the fields which was cool. Apples were delicious. Walk the corn maze. Then off to Brotherhood Winery. I LOVED it. The food there was delicious. The wine was great. Had music outside. All in all it was good tour. Bus very clean. Tour guide very accommodating. cool day tour
Beautiful day in the Hudson Valley, went on September 23rd 2018 the first weekend of autumn, Fishkill Farms had Apple picking, pear picking, pumpkin picking, sunflower picking and all were abundant. The first weekend of autumn had a hint of yellow on some of the trees as we drove past Bear Mountain State Park area. Our tour guide Jeff decided to give us more time at the farm to have lunch and cider instead of stopping along the way. We were at the farm from 9:30am till 12:45pm. I was happy to have this experience.
This was an excellent 1-day trip, thanks to TakeTours and our tour guide Eddie. He was jovial and very nice. This is one of the best 1-day trip available. We enjoyed apple picking, got a lot of time for apple picking. There were pumpkins, sunflowers too. 5 stars to apple picking, don't miss this great opportunity. The winery tour was not up to the mark, however, wine tasting was good, other than that there's nothing much to see. Overall, I recommend this 1-day tour, have fun.
It was a good tour for a 1-day getaway from the city. We first went to Brotherhood Winery and Suzanne who led us around talked about the history then wine tasting. Great wines! Then we went over to FishKill Farms where the scenery was beautiful. Plenty of different types of apples to pick from including organic varieties. There was also a pumpkin patch, hayride, herbs and veggies farm, as well as free ranging chickens! There, you can get fresh donuts and cider. I really recommend it!
It was a great trip. I enjoyed very much the apple picking. At the farm, we saw also pumpkins and sunflowers as well, very nice experience. I also enjoyed the visit to the Brotherhood winery, the tour in the winery was very good.
