After guest meet at the specified departure location, we will begin this tour. Guided by the gentle breeze of Southern hospitality, we will experience a bygone era in one of the South's most beautiful settings, the Oak Alley Plantation, built in 1839. Our guide will tell us fascinating stories of the home and its history. Perhaps the most photographed plantation ever, Oak Alley has been the setting for such motion pictures as Interview With a Vampire. We can enjoy a snack, salad, or sandwich in the Plantation Cafe (cost not included). Due to the historic nature of the plantation, access to the second floor is by stairs only. No video is allowed inside the plantation home. Afterwards, we will return to the departure location, bringing an end to the tour. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
The city known as the "Big Easy" is most famous for its colorful and exciting Mardi Gras celebration. Visitors will marvel at its distinctive Cajun culture and cuisine that is unlike anything else in the world.
This historic plantation on the Mississippi River in southeastern Louisiana is a National Historic Landmark. In addition to its function as a museum, the Oak Alley Plantation has served as a set for films and TV shows.
