Day 1 Natal-Cunhau-Natal(182 km)

Guests will be picked up from their hotels in Natal in the morning. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations. Today, we will take motorway BR101 south for roughly 90km to Cunhau. Our first stop here will be the Chapel of the Martyrs of Cunhau. After a brief stop, we will enter the estuary of the Cunhau River, where we will see the prawn farms before reaching the beach, Barra do Cunhau. At this ideal spot, we can swim in the river, the ocean, or the natural pools that form. There is excellent local food available (at our own expense). For the full experience, we can take an optional boat trip down the Cunhau River to visit the mangroves where local fishermen catch freshwater crabs, visiting hidden, enchanting little beaches. After enjoying the beach for the day, we will return to Natal, where guests will be dropped off to bring an end to this tour.

This beach town south of Natal, Brazil is the location of the Church of the Martyrs, where local Christians were killed during a Dutch invasion in the 1600s. The area is known for its fantastic beaches and calming waters.
