Day 1: Mexico City

After arrival in Mexico City, we will meet with our group and tour Leader at the hotel at 2:00pm. After a short welcome meeting, we will go for a walking tour around the historic center, followed by a guided visit to the National Anthropology Museum. In the evening we will join an optional dinner & get-together in one of the local restaurants/bars.

    National Museum of Anthropology

    National Museum of Anthropology is the largest and most visited museum in Mexico. It contains the world's largest collection of ancient Mexican art and also has ethnographic exhibits about Mexico's present-day indigenous groups.

Day 2: Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Xicotepec - Tuxpan (249 km)

Today we go to visit Teotihuacan after breakfast. After a tour around the archeological zone, we will continue to Xicotepec where we could enjoy optional lunch and take a walking tour around the town. Then we will go to Tuxpan, a quiet fishing town known for its excellent seafood and wide sandy beaches. Upon arrival in our hotel near the beach, we could take own time to enjoy the sea, then going out to Tuxpan center in the evening: orientation walk, optional dinner & get-together in one of local restaurants/bars.

    An ancient Mesoamerican city located in a sub-valley of the Valley of Mexico, known today as the site of many of the most architecturally significant Mesoamerican pyramids built in the pre-Columbian Americas.
  • Xicotepec, MX

    Located in Puebla in central-eastern Mexico, it is a "Magic Town" hidden among the clouds and mountains, famous for its coffee production and unique combination of the pre-Hispanic and colonial cultures.
  • Tuxpan, MX

    Tuxpan is located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. Being the nearest port to Mexico City, Tuxpan is an important commercial link for Mexican imports and exports.

Day 3: Tuxpan - El Tajin - Papantla (63 km)

After breakfast, we will take a boat to nearby Tuxpan Coral Reef where we could see colorful corals and practice snorkeling. After getting back and checking out from our hotel, we will go to the impressive pyramids of El Tajin, visiting a giant statue of Christ the Redeemer on our way. After exploring the archeological zone, we will continue to nearby Papantla. There we'll see Totonacs wearing traditional clothing. Then we will go to hotel for check-in, take a walking tour around the historic center, have an optional farewell dinner & get-together in one of local restaurants/bar.

Day 4: Papantla - Mexico City

After breakfast, we leave from hotel and head to Mexico City. We will arrive there around noon. On the way back home, we could enjoy impressive panoramic views while crossing a 225 meters high San Marcos Bridge, which will make you feel like you are among the clouds when it's foggy.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Less than 15 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount
    Day of departure - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    Cancellation penalties of all extra services booked with us (airport transfers, pre and post night accommodations, single room surcharge and additional activities):
    31 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30 days or less prior to departure - 100% of the price of extra services.
    NOTE: There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties. We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
