Guests will be picked up from their hotels in Mexico City. Today, we will drive to Piedra Herrada to visit the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary.It is common to appreciate the Monarch Butterfly flying freely between the months of November to March . We will also visit the Bridal Veil waterfall, impressive waterfall that feeds the river San Juan.Then we also enjoy a walk through the streets of Valle de Bravo famous for its typical architecture, traditional and colonial. Piedra Herrada is in Estado de Mexico (Mexico State), a short drive from Valle de Bravo. The famous Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is located at Piedra Herrada.
Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is a World Heritage Site containing most of the over-wintering sites of the eastern population of the monarch butterfly. The reserve is located in the northwest of Mexico City. Most of the over-wintering monarchs from eastern North America are found here.
