Day 1 Los Angeles - Phoenix - Tucson(488 miles)

In the morning we will leave Los Angeles and drive across the vast deserts of the West to Phoenix, AZ. Here, we will take a brief tour of the city that includes at stop at the City Hall building. After spending some time in Phoenix, we will continue on to Tucson, AZ for the night.

This city in the Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest was founded in 1861. The Phoenix area is known as the "Valley of the Sun" for its sunny, subtropical desert climate. It has produced a slew of famous politicians.

    This impressive 20-story building in downtown Phoenix is a staple of the city's skyline. It was built in the early 1990s to replace the growing metropolitan area's old city hall, which can still be visited nearby.

Day 2 Tucson - White Sands National Monument - Carlsbad(485 miles)

Today we will leave Tucson and travel to the incredible White Sands National Monument, a desert in which the sand never gets hot. After spending time exploring this miracle of nature, we will retire to Carlsbad, NM for the night.

The seat of Otero County, New Mexico, United States, known for its connection with the Trinity test, the first explosion of an atomic bomb.

    This national monument in south-central New Mexico covers more than 140,000 acres in the Tularosa Basin. The striking sand dunes that give the park its name get their color from gypsum crystals, which are rarely found in sand.

Day 3 Carlsbad Caverns National Park - Guadalupe Mountains National Park - Tucson(415 miles)

Our day today is dedicated to two spectacular national parks: Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico and Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas. At the end of the day we will head into Arizona, where we will arrive for the night at Tucson.

Carlsbad is a city in and the county seat of Eddy County, New Mexico, United States, this city is a hub for tourism.

    Carlsbad Caverns National Park is home to the Big Room, the third-largest cave chamber in North America and the seventh-largest in the world. From spring through fall, visitors can also witness the nightly bat flight.

This park in Texas gets its name from Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in the entire state. In addition to natural features such as the bigtooth maple trees, the park is home to several historic buildings.

Day 4 Tucson - Saguaro National Park - Los Angeles(467 miles)

Before leaving Tucson, we will visit the nearby Arizona-Sonara Desert Museum, a massive zoo, aquarium, and botanical garden devoted to the flora and fauna of the Sonora Desert. From there, we will make our way to Saguaro National Park. At the end of the day, we will return to Los Angeles. There is no airport transfer.

Tucson has grown into a modern metropolis without entirely sacrificing its historic quarters. Equal parts college town and retirement community, it's one of the more attractive big cities of the Southwest.

I booked this tour to visit the White Dunes and the Caverns in Carlsbad. The driver and guide took good care of everybody on the tour. I have taten more than 10 tours from tate tours. Looking forfard more.

I booked this tour with my sister to visit the White Dunes and the Caverns in Carlsbad for the first time. The staff took good care of everybody on the tour. I look forward to another tour.

The long ride was worth it. There was some delays because of insistent participants, tour director was trying to explain the requirements (passports)his patience is admirable!

I booked this tour for my parents: Chia-Tsun Chen and Wen-Yen Chen Chang. They said the guide was friendly and courteous. The hotels were clean and comfortable. The sights were beautiful and they had a great time.
