The first day and the last day were self-guided, basically, you need to explore on your own if you don't want to join optional tours. It was okay for me and my husband, we actually preferred having more free time on our own. We joined Grand Canyon South Rim tour on the second day, it was a lot of fun, our tour guide was very friendly and professional, made some new friends on the way:)
