Day 1 Lisbon
Guests will arrive at the airport in Lisbon. After clearing immigration and customs, they will transfer to the local hotel before having the rest of the day free to explore the city at their own leisure.
Day 2 Lisbon City Tour
In the morning, we will tour the city of Lisbon, admiring its splendid avenues and monuments, like the Tower of Belem and Jeronimos Monastery. We will have the afternoon free, and it is strongly recommended that we visit the graceful hilltop village of Sintra or the vibrant seaside resort town of Cascais.
Day 3 Lisbon - Merida - Seville (477 km)
Today, we will make our way back to Spain. After we cross the border, we will stop at the Roman ruins of Merida, founded in 25 BCE as "Emerita Augusta," to admire the impressive amphitheater. Afterward, we will continue to Sevilla for the evening.
Day 4 Seville City Tour
Today, we will tour the city of Sevilla, the "Pearl of Andalusia," seeing the Torre del Oro, tranquil Maria Luisa Park, the quaint Santa Cruz Quarter, and finally, the massive Cathedral with its Giralda tower. The afternoon is free to continue exploring the city or shop. In the evening, there is an option to see a performance of live Flamenco music while enjoying local wine.
Day 5 Seville - Cordoba - Granada (346 km)
After breakfast, we will depart Sevilla for Cordoba, visiting the Mosque-Cathedral, one of the most marvelous religious buildings in the world. Then, we will continue to Granada, passing thousands of acres of olive groves. It is suggested that we spend our evening visiting the quaint Albaicin Quarter, where we will see the city illuminated beautifully.
Day 6 Granada - Madrid (360 km)
Before we leave Granada, we will go on a guided tour of the amazing Moorish palacae and fortress complex, the Alhambra, seeing the verdant gardens of the Generalife. In the afternoon, we will return to Madrid, crossing the plains of La Mancha, land of Don Quixote.
Day 7 Madrid
After enjoying a buffet breakfast, guests will have the day to explore Madrid at their own leisure. In the early evening, they should take advantage of an illuminated drive through the bustling streets of the city that ends at the historic Plaza Mayor, an area that contains some of the city's best restaurants and taverns. Guests will return to the hotel at their own convenience.
Day 8 Madrid City Tour
In the morning, we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast before embarking on an escorted sightseeing tour allowing us to see some of the city's most notable attractions, like the Puerta del Sol, the magnificent Fountains of Neptune and Cibeles, stately Alcala Gate, bustling Gran Via, the Plaza de Espana and the Plaza de Oriente.
Day 9 Madrid (Last Day)
After breakfast, guests will be transferred to the Madrid airport for their return flights.
