Day 1 Las Vegas - Antelope Canyon - Page - Las Vegas(558 miles)

In the morning, we will leave for the Lower Antelope Canyon or Upper Antelope, a colorful area famous for its long, narrow canyon that we will walk through. Formed by flash floods, light penetrates through the narrow opening, creating different shades of lights, making the area popular for photographers and tourists. Then, we will proceed to Horseshoe Bend, where the Colorado River makes a 280 degree turn. After, we will return to Las Vegas.

The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon's walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow.

The lower canyon is in the shape of a "V" and Longer, shallower than the Upper Antelope. Lighting is better in the early hours and late morning. It draws a considerable number of photographers.

At first I was cautious due to reading reviews from other websites about Taketours. I cannot speak for other destinations but this tour for Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe bend was awesome. Booking through take tours was seamless. They used the tour company CHD which I highly recommend now. They used a brand new 2019 tour bus which was extremely comfortable with a bathroom on board for our 9 hour round trip. Our guide Kaka, was extremely pleasant and provided cold water and snacks. Everything is straight forward as long as you read the print. Would love to check out lower antelope canyon next time. I would highly recommend this tour.

The time allowed at each location was very good so you won't be rushed. There was a gas station stop before and after tour. Be prepared to do some walking up and down a hill (15-20 mins) to get to Horseshoe canyon, it's worth it! On the brief jeep ride to the upper Antelope canyon, bring a scarf, rag or something to cover your face from some dust that might be around. You can bring your bags with you to leave on the bus, in an upper cabin above your seat. Guide Harry and driver Hank were good. Bring water, snacks, something to dust off clothes with and sunglasses with you.

The trip was good although the weather was too hot. But the bus was comfortable. We enjoyed the journey. The Antelope canyon was a superb place to visit and I would recommend to use Taketour as it is economical and well organized. You will receive a call 24 hours back and they will confirm the pick up point. They are very punctual so I recommend all to be on time at the pick up point. After you enter into the bus all will be taken care.
