Day 1 Las Vegas - Page - Las Vegas(558 miles)

In the early morning, we will depart from Las Vegas and travel to Page, AZ to visit Upper Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. In the evening, we will return to Las Vegas.

The most popular slot canyon in the American Southwest is Antelope Canyon, a sandstone formation formed by flood and rainwater. The canyon is located on a Navajo reservation, and has been made a Navajo Tribal Park.

  • Always Visit
Upper Antelope Canyon is called "the place where water runs through rocks" by the Navajo. Its entrance and entire length are at ground level, requiring no climbing. Beams occur most often in the summer months, as they require the sun to be high in the sky. Light beams start to peek into the canyon March 20 and disappear October 7 each year.

Page is a city in Coconino County, Arizona, United States, near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Page was founded in 1957 as a housing community for workers and their families during the construction of nearby Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River.

  • Always Visit
Horseshoe Bend, located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area about 5 miles downriver from Lake Powell, is a sharp turn in the Colorado River that formed from erosion over the course of millions of years.

Tour guide Simon sent email saying where to meet at hotel entrance and departure time change a day before. The bus stopped at gas station to buy breakfast. It took 15 min to get to entrance of Antelope Canyon by small tour truck and we spent 50 min inside canyon. The guide told us where to take pictures with iPhone. Then we had 30 min lunch time at Subway or Chinese restaurant. We had one hour at Horseshoe Bend to see. It was a spectacular view!!!
