After guests are picked up in Krakow, we will leave the city behind to spend a half-day touring the legendary Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the oldest salt mines in Europe. Given the mine's historical importance and its chapels, statues, and carvings of famous figures, Wieliczka has been made a UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring the mine, we will return to Krakow, where guests will be dropped off. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
Krakow is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century.
Built in the 13th century, this salt mine is one of the oldest in Europe. Visitors will be amazed by the winding, labyrinthine corridors. Within, you will find three subterranean chapels filled with religious statues.
