Today, we will tour the city of Joao Pessoa, visiting the beaches of Tambau, Manaira, and Cabo Branco. At this third beach, we will see the Lighthouse, which marks the easternmost point on the American continents. We will then proceed to the historical district of the city - the third oldest in the country - to see locations like the Parque Solon de Lucena, the Square of Three Powers, the Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snows, the Monastery of Sao Bento, and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo. On the way back, we'll stop at the a local crafts market to view the beautiful creations of the locals, which make great souvenirs. Afterwards, guests will be returned to their hotels to end the tour.
This upscale neighborhood in Joao Pessoa is one of the city's most vibrant areas, with some of the best shopping and one of the best beaches around. There are some fantastic restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood.
This is an upscale neighborhood directly on the coast of Joao Pessoa. Its beach is lovely, composed of white sand and vibrant turquoise waters. It is the location of the Hotel Tropical Tambau, a large, circular hotel.

This lighthouse at Ponta do Seixas, along Cabo Branco, is the easternmost point in the American continents, explaining Joao Pessoa's nickname, "the city where the sun rises first." It is a triangular tower with three wings jutting out.
Sometimes referred to simply as "the Lagoon," this public park in the heart of Joao Pessoa's commercial district is centered around a large lake. There are many kinds of trees on display here, including acacias, the symbol of the city.
The original church at this site was built by the first colonial settlers in the area in 1586. It was made the seat of the Paraiba Archdiocese in the early 20th century, and made a basilica in 1997.
This church in Joao Pessoa is an exquisite example of 17th century baroque architecture. Inside, the Chapel of Saint Teresa has a ceiling mural that depicts Jesus appearing before the saint, among other magnificent designs.
This small monastery in Joao Pessoa is home of Benedictine monks. It is a unique piece of baroque Brazilian architecture. It is an off-white chapel with interesting wood carvings spaced throughout the interior.
