Day 1 Hilo

Today we will gather in Hilo. Guests can meet the tour guide at the Hilo airport for transfer to the hotel. The check-in time is after 3:00 pm. Those who arrive in the morning can have free time on their own or join the optional tours: a. Fly along a zipline; b. see the Halemaumau Crater at night; c. visit the Mauna Kea Observatories!

Day 2 Hilo - Volcanoes National Park - Wailuku River State Park(39 miles)

In the morning we will tour Volcanoes National Park. After, we will visit the Akatsuka Orchid Garden and a Macadamia Nut Farm. In the afternoon we will spend time at Richardson Beach Park, the King Kamehameha Statue, and Wailuku River State Park. We will also see the Rainbow Falls.

The "Big Island," Hawaii Island, is the largest and perhaps most recognizable of the islands in the Hawaiian archipelago. The island is home to seven protected areas, including four national parks. The island is made up of five volcanoes.

Hilo is the largest city, census-designated place (CDP), and settlement in Hawaii County, Hawaii, which encompasses the Island of Hawai'i. Hilo is the county seat of the County of Hawai'i and is located in the District of South Hilo.

Day 3 Hilo - Akaka Falls State Park - Lava Trees State Park - Kapoho Hot Spring - Kalapana Black Sand Beach

After breakfast, we will Akaka Falls State Park, the Nani Mau Gardens, and Lava Trees State Park. We will then continue on to the Kapoho Tide Pools and Kalapana Black Sand Beach.

Day 4 Hilo - Waimea - Kona(88 miles)

After breakfast, we will take a the scenic drive along the northeastern coast of the Big Island before heading west toward Kona. Along the way, we will make a stop in Waimea for lunch at a local cattle ranch.

We will arrive at our hotel in Kona in the afternoon, at which point guests may opt to have free time or can choose to embark on one of several optional tours. Choose from activities such as a submarine ride, a dinner cruise, or an authentic lu'au.

Booking changes

Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .

At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

Tour Cancellation:
We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
