This tour of Hilo, HI's natural features is headlined by the Volcanoes National Park, home to the still-active Kilauea, which is constantly erupting and sending lava flowing through the park's landscape. We will spend approximately 15 minutes to one hour at each location. The order of the stops is subject to being changed but you will get to see them all!
Our day begins with a drive through the historic town of Hilo and cruise along scenic Banyan Drive. Here, we will explore the Akatsuka Orchid Gardens, view Kilauea Iki Crater, witness the gorgeous 80-foot Rainbow Falls and walk through Thurston Lava Tube.
We will also stop at the Jaggar Museum to see hands-on displays and films of previous eruptions & current activity and enjoy a delicious lunch stop (meal not included).

Volcanoes National Park showcases Hawaii's interesting geological history. Near the town of Hilo, Mt. Kilauea, and the Thurston Lava Tube, the park boasts an incredible, dynamic landscape that is often reshaped by local volcanic activity.
The Akatsuka Orchid Gardens on the Big Island of Hawaii are a greenhouse, nursery, and botanical garden that is open to the public for free. There are more than 500 blooming orchids on display for visitors to the complex.
This impressive waterfall near downtown Hilo, Hawaii is eighty feet tall and almost a hundred feet in diameter. Its ease of access and lack of admission fee make it a popular sight to see for visitors to Hilo.
A volcano observatory located at Uwekahuna Bluff on the rim of Kilauea Caldera on the Island of Hawaii. The observatory monitors four active Hawaiian volcanoes: Kilauea, Mauna Loa, Hualālai, and Haleakalā. Located at the main site is the public Thomas A. Jaggar Museum.
Departure & Return
Pick up service is provided from Hilo hotels and Hilo Airport. Please Enter the name of your hotel, or flight numbers if meeting at airport in the 'Hotel Pick-up Info'. (We are not permitted to pick up in residential areas, the National Park or at B&B's).
Passengers will be picked-up from hotel / airport approximately 8:00 am with return approximately 6:30 p.m.
