Day 1

On this day trip from Hilo, we will visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Rainbow Falls, Downtown Hilo, Liliuokalani Garden, the Akatsuka Orchid Garden, Richardson Black Sand Beach and the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Farm. Throughout the whole trip, we will enjoy the lively commentary from our knowledgeable guides.

Hilo, HI

Hilo is the largest city, census-designated place (CDP), and settlement in Hawaii County, Hawaii, which encompasses the Island of Hawai'i. Hilo is the county seat of the County of Hawai'i and is located in the District of South Hilo.

Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park showcases Hawaii's interesting geological history. Near the town of Hilo, Mt. Kilauea, and the Thurston Lava Tube, the park boasts an incredible, dynamic landscape that is often reshaped by local volcanic activity.

Rainbow Falls

This impressive waterfall near downtown Hilo, Hawaii is eighty feet tall and almost a hundred feet in diameter. Its ease of access and lack of admission fee make it a popular sight to see for visitors to Hilo.

Akatsuka Orchid Gardens

The Akatsuka Orchid Gardens on the Big Island of Hawaii are a greenhouse, nursery, and botanical garden that is open to the public for free. There are more than 500 blooming orchids on display for visitors to the complex.

Richardson Beach Park

Richardson Beach Park is a park located just east of Hilo on Hawaii Island. It is significant for being the only Hilo beach with special volcanic black sand. It was named for Elsa and George Richardson, who lived there.

Macadamia Nut Farm

The macadamia nut, although native to Australia, thrives on Hawaii. Many farms and factories offer tours of their facilities that take visitors throw the cultivation process and offer tasty Hawaiian treats.

Pickup is available from Hilo hotels, piers, and airport starting from 8:30-09:30AM. You will receive confirmation of your exact pick-up time after booking is received.

Additional Note

Your must be able to walk up and down a moderate incline for 15-20 minutes at the Thurston Lava Tube. This activity is not wheelchair accessible.

Confirmation

Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 36 hours of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. The tour requires a minimum number of passengers to operate so reconfirmation two days prior to the departure date is required. If you are planning to take flight to join the tour, please call us to confirm the tour before booking flight tickets.

Redemption

You will receive an confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is received. Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.
