Today, we will depart El Calafate on a 4x4 vehicle, traversing a 5-kilometer stretch of paved road until we reach the point where we will go off-road through ranch fields towards the shores of Lago Argentino. We will drive along gravel roads that are overgrown with shrubs and Patagonian bushes, often covered in snow. We will enjoy watching the picturesque scenery that includes frozen lagoons, plateaus, and rivers as we drive up to a scenic point 300 meters above sea level. Looking out from here, we will be able to see multiple archaeological sites. Then, we will descend the plateau and make our way across sand dunes and beaches, eventually stopping for lunch near the Centinela River. Then, we will begin our return trip to El Calafate, passing Mount Comision on the way. This itinerary may vary without prior notice due to weather conditions. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
