Day 1 Cuzco

Today we will gather in Cuzco, CUS, Peru. After making their way to the Milhouse Backpackers & Hotel and checking in, guests may spend the day however they choose. There is a mandatory pre-departure briefing before bedtime.

Day 2 Cuzco - Corao - Pisaq - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes(121 km)

Today we will travel from Cuzco to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the village of Corao, where guests will have the chance to explore the marketplace for a half hour. From there we will head to the archaeological sites at Pisaq, CUS. Here, guests will have 45 minutes of free time. We will continue on to Urubamba, CUS for lunch and then another ancient site, Ollantaytambo, CUS, where guests will again have 45 minutes to explore. From there, we will take a train to Aguas Calientes, CUS, where we will spend the night.

This small town north of Cuzco is built around an archaeological site. At the height off the Inca Empire, Ollantaytambo was the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti. It is one of the starting points of the Inca Trail.

Day 3 Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cuzco(110 km)

We will catch one of the first buses to Machu Picchu so that we may see the early morning light over this amazing place. After a two-hour walking tour, guests will have time to explore on their own. Those who still have energy can climb Huayna Picchu, a mountain in the middle of the ancient town. We will return to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon and from there take a train to Ollantaytambo and then a bus back to Cuzco.
