Day 1 Christchurch - Hokitika - Franz Josef (296 km)

Nau mai, haere mai! That's how local Kiwis say "welcome!" Our journey in New Zealand will kick off as we depart Christchurch in the morning, making a fantastic trek across the Canterbury Plains and over Arthur's Pass, which will bring us to the West Coast. Around every corner, we will enjoy a picturesque view, so we should be sure to have our cameras ready. We will visit Hokitika, famous for its jade, before stopping in the town of Franz Josef.

Day 2 Full day at Franz Josef

We will enjoy a free day to explore the mighty Franz Josef Glacier, navigating a maze of ice and viewing the landscape. We can join a tour of the glacier at our own expense. The region also offers many spectacular hiking opportunities. In the evening, we can dine at any of the fin local restaurants in town or prepare our own dinner.

Day 3 Franz Josef - Makarora (286 km)

Today we head down the West Coast towards Mount Aspiring National Park, stopping to take in some breathtaking scenery at the amazing mirror Lake Matheson, NZ's most photographed lake. See waterfalls as we travel through the mountainous Haast Pass towards Makarora then visit the stunning Blue Pools. On arrival in Mount Aspiring National Park we go jet boating, experience the best in shallow water boating skimming just inches from the riverbed, see pristine waterways, snow-capped peaks and native bush.

Day 4 Makarora - Fiordland National Park

Fiordland National Park is one of New Zealand's most beautiful locations, featuring stunning ice-carved fiords, valleys, lakes and mountain scenery. It is our first port of call today. Within Fiordland, we will visit Doubtful Sound, the deepest of all the fjords, surrounded by towering peaks and huge waterfalls. We will board a purpose built boat and enjoy complimentary afternoon tea while cruising past fur seals, penguins and dolphins. We will also be able to rent out sea kayaks to explore the area.

Day 5 Fiordland National Park - Queenstown (235 km)

Around midday, we will depart Doubtful Sound, leaving behind the Fiordland as we head to Queenstown, known as the "adventure capital of the world." We can enjoy a night on the town, exploring the area's restaurants, pubs and live music venues.

Day 6 Full days in Queenstown

We will have the entire day to explore Queenstown at our own leisure. There are many activities available to join in the area, including, bungee jumping, ziplining, canyoning, Shotover River jet boating, skiing, sky diving or simply just walking to enjoy the stunning scenery. These optional activities and meals are available at guests' own expense.

Day 7 Full days in Queenstown

There are many activities available to join in the area, including, bungee jumping, ziplining, canyoning, Shotover River jet boating, skiing, sky diving or simply just walking to enjoy the stunning scenery. Day 8 Queenstown - Mount Cook (219 km)

Today, we will start with a short drive to Wanaka, where we will spend the morning biking along scenic lakeside trails. After lunch, we will head over the Lindis Pass through the picturesque Mackenzie region to the base of Mount Cook. We will also have some time to hike through Hooker Valley, full of breathtaking views of dramatic mountain landscapes. We will also have the option of taking a scenic alpine flight.

Day 9 Mount Cook - Lake Tekapo - Christchurch (275 km)

Today, we will make our way through a landscape made famous by the Lord of the Rings films. We will take a stroll around Lake Tekapo, known for its turquoise waters and historic church.
