Day 1 Chicago
Guest who fly into O'Hare Airport will meet our guide in baggage claim area and transfer to Fashion outlet for a shopping tour . Those who fly into Midway Airport will have to arrange their own transportation to the hotel. There is an optional night tour for those who arrival before 5:00pm.
Day 2 Chicago
Today, we will get to see the magnificent architecture of Chicago over the course of one day. We will visit places like the Willis Tower, Millennium Park, the Chicago Board of Trade, the Bulls Arena, the campus of the University of Chicago, Navy Pier, Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Old Chicago Water Tower, and Michigan Avenue. If time permits, we will also get the chance to take an optional Cruise of Lake Michigan.
Day 3 Chicago - Madison - Wisconsin Dells - Wausau (302 miles)
Today, we will travel to Madison, the capital of Wisconsin, one of the most livable cities in the country and home to the University of Wisconsin. Here, we will see visionary architecture at the House on the Rock, where we will hear the incredible story of this fascinating locale. Wisconsin Dells has the country's largest water park, and people from all over the world come here to enjoy the summer. Later, in Wausau, we will visit a local ginseng farm.
Day 4 Lake Superior - Sault Ste Marie (378 miles)
Today, we will drive to Lake Superior, where we will take a boat to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Tahquamenon Falls is the second largest waterfall in the eastern half of the US, behind only Niagara Falls. The Soo Locks are one of the great engineering wonders of the world and an important waterway traffic system. In the evening, we will arrive in Sault Ste. Marie, situated on the border between the US and Canada.
Day 5 Mackinaw Island - Traverse City (141 miles)
Today, we will go to Mackinac Island, where the automobile never replaced the horse and carriage. It is the jewel of the Great Lakes and one of the most popular vacation islands in the world. After seeing the farm field and fruit yard, we will arrive in Traverse City, also known as "Cherry City," which offers a variety of wineries and outdoor activities.
Day 6 Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park - Holland Village (189 miles)
Today, we will go to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park , which features miles of sandy beaches, lush forests and more to make up a beautiful locale. Later on, we will travel to the Dutch Village in Holland, MI, passing the largest windmill in the US on our way.
Day 7 South Bend - Amish Farm - Cleveland (332 miles)
Today, we will visit the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. After that, we will visit a local Amish Village to feel like we've traveled back into the past as we learn about this culture that eschews modern technology. Then, we will continue our journey to Cleveland to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Day 8 Cleveland - Niagara Falls (212 miles)
In the morning, we will make the trek to Niagara Falls, NY. Here, we will do some sightseeing and ride the Maid of the Mist.
Day 9 Detroit - Ann Arbor - Chicago (277 miles)
Today, we will travel to Detroit, which is best known for automobile culture and manufacturing, which we will learn about in detail at the Henry Ford Museums. After decades of economic decline and population loss, Detroit is now seeing many of its historic buildings renovated and its downtown core bustling with new developments and attractions. Later, we will pass through Ann Arbor and visit the University of Michigan. Afterwards, we will return to Chicago.
Day 10 Chicago
Today, we will visit the campus of Northwestern University, Baha'i Temple, the Chicago Botanic Garden, and the area of the city densest with mansions.
Day 11 Chicago (66 miles)
Today, we will visit the Ernest Hemingway Birthplace and Museum, the McDonald's Headquarters, Frank Lloyd Wright's Home and Studio, Naperville Village, and the The Tribune Family Estate.
