In the evening, guests will meet up with the guide. We will begin the tour by walking up the hill to Bratislava Castle, the dominant symbol of the city, which stands on a strategic point above the Danube. The site has been inhabited as far back as the time of the Celts and the Great Moravian period. It was the location of a summit between U.S. President George W. Bush and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in February 2005. Here, we will get an impressive view of the majestic city below. Then we will continue walking down the hill, through historical areas and streets before arriving at the Bratislava National Theater and the Reduta, home of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. Next, we will keep walking along the Danube until we see the Most SNP, a bridge with an observation tower nicknamed the "UFO." From the tower, we will admire the city from a different point of view than the one we had at the castle. Our tour will end here, where we can enjoy a relaxing drink. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
  • Bratislava, Slovakia

    Bratislava, Slovakia
Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is a beautiful Central European city. Some of the most popular places in town are St. Martin's Cathedral, the Old Town, and Devin Castle.

    Bratislava Castle

A four-walled white building with red-orange roofing that rests on a hill above the rest of Bratislava overlooking the Danube River, the city's castle was originally built in the 9th century BCE.

    Bratislava National Theater

A Neo-Renaissance building in the old section of Bratislava, this theater hosts opera, drama, and ballet. In addition to this facility, a newer, more modern theater was built in another part of town, though both are continually used.

    Reduta

This building in Bratislava was built in 1919 on the site of the old town granary. Inside, there is a theater that houses the Bratislava Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Europe's most critically acclaimed music ensembles.

    Most SNP

Nicknamed the UFO Bridge because of the large observation tower that looms over its center, resembling an alien aircraft, it crosses the Danube, it connects the district of Petrzalka with the rest of the city via the Old Town.
