Day 1 Boston

Lighthouses are part of New England's heritage, and they once kept sailors from navigating too close to the shore. Many of these structures remain in use today. This tour will begin in Boston, where we will board a cruise, accompanied by expert members of the American Lighthouse Foundation who provide the narration. We will pass the Long Island Head Light, Deer Island Light, and Boston Light, which is the oldest lighthouse station in the U.S. Turning north, we will pass Graves Light, Hospital Point Light, Marblehead Light, Fort Pickering Light, Baker's Island Light, Eastern Point Light, Ten Pound Island Light, Straitsmouth Island Light, and more. The tour will culminate with a view of Thacher Island, the location of the only two lighthouses in the country that remain operational.

*Return time is an estimate and varies based on traffic and weather conditions.

We make every effort to visit all area lighthouses during our cruise. In some cases, due to inclement weather and time constraints, it may be necessary for us to limit access to some outer lighthouses.
