Day 1 Barcelona

Montserrat is a mountainover 4000 feet high, visible for miles, with weird shapes and rounded peaks that jut into the sky. It is also home to a library of nearly 300,000 volumes; the oldest boys' choir in Europe; a basilica full of paintings, gold lamps and decorated chapels, a museum with paintings by El Greco, Picasso and Dali among many others and treasures from ancient Egypt.

Upon arrival our guide will take us to the main places such as the museum with a great collection of paintings, the different bars, restaurants and shops that are located there and also the monastery and basilica, two of the main attractions. He will give explanations outside the basilica as silence must be kept inside it. We'll be shown the Lady's Chapel of the 12th Century figure of the Lady of Montserrat. Afterwards we will have free time to dedicate to the aspects of this beautiful and spiritual place that attract them most.

This gorgeous Spanish city on the Mediterranean is one of the world's most popular tourists destinations due to its rich cultural heritage. Visitors can see medieval buildings or admire modernity at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

  • Always Visit
A very short trip outside of Barcelona will bring visitors to Montserrat, a mountain nearby the city. Perfect hiking trails wind their way over the broad mountain. A beautiful Benedictine Abbey was built amongst these peaks.
