Day 1 Barcelona

This tour combines two areas of natural beauty used by Barcelona for culture and recreation:

First we will visit the waterfront, which is a living example of how the very old can be successfully combined with the very new: Port Vell with its dock warehouses and the Barcelona Royal Shipyard have been preserved and incorporated into a remodeled recreational area, with the aquarium, the World Trade Center, restaurants and cinemas.

Next we will visit the Montjuic Hill, with its parks, art galleries, museums, and the 1992 "Olympic Ring", of sports stadiums also provides spectacular views over the city. We will visit the charming Poble Espanyol and have free time for lunch there.

This gorgeous Spanish city on the Mediterranean is one of the world's most popular tourists destinations due to its rich cultural heritage. Visitors can see medieval buildings or admire modernity at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

  • Barcelona's Royal Shipyard is one of the only preserved buildings of its kind, designed in a gothic style and used to build and house ships until the 1700s. The museum inside commemorates Spain's rich naval history with ship replicas.
  • Barcelona's World Trade Center is a bowl-shaped complex, designed to resemble a ship on the sea, full of space for businesses and conferences. Included in the facility are restaurants, a full fitness center with professional instructors, and a hotel.
  • Rising above the Barcelona's harbor is Montjuic Hill. Parks and gardens rest on this hill, converging with each other via winding paths carved into the hillside, along with a Greek amphitheater, various museums and the Olympic Park.
  • The Poble Espanyol is a museum dedicated to the rich architectural history of the Iberian peninsula, the buildings replications of various styles from across Spain. The museum is filled with artisans who can be seen at work any given day.
