Day 1 Barcelona

We will begin the day in Barcelona and drive to the famous holy site of Montserrat, a mountain that rises 4,051 feet. To ascend the mountain, we will take the co-wheel train, which brings us to the monastery and Royal Basilica at the top. The journey to the summit provides us with breathtaking panoramic views of the mountain and the surrounding area. In the Royal Basilica, we will be able to see the famous statue of the Black Madonna. The site has drawn pilgrims into its fold for thousands of years. We will enjoy some free time to hear an audio tour that details the history of the site. Afterwards, we will taste some of the famous liquor made by the monks before returning to Barcelona.

This gorgeous Spanish city on the Mediterranean is one of the world's most popular tourists destinations due to its rich cultural heritage. Visitors can see medieval buildings or admire modernity at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
