Day 1: San Jose

Today, guests will arrive at the airport in San Jose where they will meet their tour guide. He will help you handle your information package such as travel itinerary in detail, vouchers for services, and etc. Afterwards we will head to the hotel. Along the way your tour guide will make a brief introduction about Costa Rica and some recommendations for your trip. Uppon arrival in the hotel you can enjoy dinner there and get ready to start a fun trip early tomorrow.

Day 2: Siquirres - La Fortuna (93 km)

Today we will take a White water rafting in Pacuare River accompanied by our tour guide. Along the ride you will face exhilarating rapids that will keep you alert. Once half of the river is completed, the tour guide will prepare a picnic lunch on the banks of the river. Afterwards we will continue traveling northwest to where the Arenal Volcano located. You will arrive at the hotel in Arenal by late afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day on your own. Tonight we will live in the area of Arenal Volcano.
  • Siquirres, COSTA RICA

    Siquirres is the capital of the canton of Siquirres in Limon Province in Costa Rica. It is around 111 km away from San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica and located on the road to the city of Puerto Limon from San Jose.

    Pacuare River

    The Pacuare River flows approximately 108 kilometres to the Caribbean. It is a popular location for white water rafting, whitewater kayaking and riverboarding. The rainforests that surround the river are home to exotic animal species such as jaguars, monkeys, ocelots, and a very large number of birds. It was also considered one of the 5 nicest rivers to practice rafting.

    La Fortuna is the name of a district and a small city located in San Carlos, in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica. "La Fortuna" is Spanish for "The Fortune", and aptly named due its ample supply of tourist attractions and extremely fertile lands.

    This active stratovolcano in Costa Rica has an elevation of 5,358 feet. It looms over the small town of Las Fortuna below. There are many trails that traverse the slopes, leading all the way to the summit.

Day 3: Lost Canyon - Arenal Volcano National Park

In the morning you will enjoy an exciting rappelling tour called Canyoning on the Lost Canyon waterfalls. We will be taken to the entrance of a stone path by a comfortable motor coach and then we will ride the "forest limousine" up the mountain for about 25 minutes until we reach the center of operations. We'll be rappelling down huge waterfalls, jumping into pools of slow moving water, zipping down on guided rappels, river tracing along the canyon and hiking up through the rainforest. After this adventure we will have a lunch and then transfer back to the hotel. In the afternoon we could enjoy more of the rainforest and relax in the natural hot springs near the volcano. We start with a nature walk in the Arenal Volcano National Park. We will have a chance to see wildlife on the hike and experience the volcano activity. After that we will go to the relaxing thermal waters near the volcano where you can swim and relax in this naturally heated hot springs. Then we will have a dinner at the hot springs restaurant so you can enjoy more time here. Overnight in the area of Arenal Volcano.
  • Arenal Volcano National Park, COSTA RICA

    Arenal Volcano National Park is a Costa Rican national park in the central part of the country, forming the Arenal Tilaran Conservation Area. The park encompasses the Arenal Volcano, which "was" the most active in the country. This Park is popular with birders, as most of the 850 species identified in Costa Rica can be found within the park's borders.

Day 4: Arenal Volcano - Monteverde (22 km)

Today you will travel to the inspiring Cloud Forest in a particularly unique way. We will take you on the Jeep-Boat-Jeep across the Arenal Lake to get to Monteverde. We could enjoy spectacular views of the Volcano and find different species of birds while we navigate through the tranquil lake. We will have the opportunity to explore the Monterverde forest but also meet the friendly locals. By mid afternoon, we will be taken to a private property where you will ride horses through the cloud forest. The ride begins on a real coffee plantation. Afterwards we will continue through dirt roads, trails, and some small rivers while we enjoy spectacular views of the Gulf of Nicoya. Overnight in Monterverde.

    A small community in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, located in the Cordillera de Tilarán mountain range. Roughly a four-hour drive from the Central Valley, Monteverde is one of the country's major ecotourism destinations.

Day 5: Monteverde

Today you will enjoy the Zip line or Canopy Tour as it is called locally. We could also take photos here so to capture the amazing views of the cloud forest. The afternoon is free for us to enjoy the hotel facilities or take one of the optional tours in the area. We could also choose to walking around the village of Santa Elena interact with locals. Overnight in Monteverde.

    Zip Line Tour

    It consists of zip lining by means of cables between trees and mountains. While you "fly" through the dense cloud forest you can see and feel all the natural activity that is occurring within the treetops such as birds, insects and some mammals.

Day 6: Monteverde - Samara Beach (88 km)

After breakfast we will head to the North Pacific area of Costa Rica. You will arrive early so you have the entire day to enjoy the Samara Beach and even admire the sunset by the end of the day. The first thing you will notice is the change of vegetation and temperature as you get to the beach. The beach is the perfect place to finish this adventure-filled trip. Besides there are more people enjoining the activity of this beach town. In the afternoon we could enjoy the free time of the beach or explore around. At night we will stay at a comfortable beach hotel with the facilities at Samara Beach.

Day 7: Samara Beach

Today you can choose one of the following adventure activities:

Mountain biking: We will cruise along the backroads of Samara beach and descending down mountainous hills. You will see amazing views of the enormous trees and abundant wildlife found in the unique environment of the tropical dry forest. We will pass by farmlands with horses, cows, and lots of tropical birds.
Ocean Kayaking and Snorkeling at Chora Island: You will start paddling from Samara beach and continue across the bay to a deserted white sand beach on Chora Island. You are free to snorkel with tropical fish, splash and swim in clear waters or simply sit and absorb the golden rays of the sun. There will be time to enjoy some fruits, admire the landscape, or do any other activity that you desire such as yoga.
Surfing Lessons: Your experienced guides will show you all the tricks and techniques. You'll be riding the waves on your own by the end of the activity.
You will return to the hotel after any of these adventures and the rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the beach and hotel facilities.

Day 8: Samara Beach - San Jose (157 km)

After breakfast we will be picked up at the hotel and then travel back to San Jose city for the last night in the Costa Rica. In the afternoon you can explore the city and visit museums or historical buildings. The central avenue is a place where you can interact with locals and learn a little about their way of living. Overnight in San Jose.

Day 9: San Jose

Today we will return back home. Your drivers will pick you up at the hotel and take you straight to the International Airport. In Costa Rica you must be at the airport 3 hours prior the departure time.

  • Return: Please make sure to check-in for your flight at least 3 hours prior the departure time at the San Jose International Aiport in Costa Rica.

  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book airline tickets until you receive the confirmation.

Redemption

  • You will receive a confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is processed. Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.
  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Take tours for details.
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    Up to 30 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    31-45 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    46-60 days prior to departure - No penalty.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
