Day 1: San Jose

Today you will meet your tour guide at the airport exit with your name on a sign. Then you will be taken to the hotel located closed to downtown San Jose, just 30 minutes away from the airport. Along the way you will receive a brief introduction to Costa Rica from your guide for your trip. Tonight you can have dinner out and explore a lively and cultural city such as theaters and public plazas in the downtown area.

Day 2: San Jose - Siquirres (66 km)

Early in the morning we will head to the area of Siquirres on the Caribbean slopes. Along the way we could admire the Braulio Carrillo National Park and then Guapiles with all the banana plantations. On the way you will enjoy a typical breakfast such as famous "Gallo Pinto". After that you will get ready to jump into the Pacuare River, which is only few minutes away. After the expert guides made the safety talk and technical instructions, we could practice paddling on calm water. We will relish the river for about 1.5 hours until you reach the amazing Lodge immerged in the dense rainforest. Then we will have a lunch in the lodge and enjoy the free time in the afternoon as rest on the comfortable suite, explore the hotel private trails or swim on the natural river pools. Overnight in Bajos del Tigre.

    The Pacuare River flows approximately 108 kilometres to the Caribbean. It is a popular location for white water rafting, whitewater kayaking and riverboarding. Day 3: Bajos del Tigre - Siquirres (78 km)

Today is at our leisure. We could choose to take some optional activities or enjoy the tranquility and beauty our lodge offers on every corner. We could go to visit the Pacuare, the most important protected area in the region. Located within this zone, the Pacuare River is part of Central America's most important network. Water flows deep inside a remarkable primary rainforest which provides shelter to jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths, and numerous other species of mammals and birds. Tonight we will live in the Bajos del Tigre.

Day 4: Siquirres - La Fortuna (93 km)

Today we will take a White water rafting in Pacuare River accompanied by our tour guide. Along the ride you will face exhilarating rapids that will keep you alert. Once half of the river is completed, the tour guide will prepare a picnic lunch on the banks of the river. Afterwards we will continue traveling northwest to where the Arenal Volcano located. You will arrive at the hotel in Arenal by late afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day on your own. Tonight we will live in the area of Arenal Volcano.

Day 5: La Fortuna

In the morning we will enjoy the activity Zip Line in Costa Rica when wearing a special harness designed for the tour. We could take our own camera to capture the amazing views of the forest. Around middle afternoon we will be picked up by our tour guide to the Arenal National Park for a guided nature walk. We will head through the jungle, hiking through easy trails that skirt around the base of the Arenal Volcano. We could also learn about the volcanic activity in the area from our tour guide. Finally, you will visit the Tabacon Hot Springs where you will find several natural heated pools to soak and relax after a day full of activity. In the evening we could enjoy a buffet dinner in Tabacon.

Day 6: Manuel Antonio

After breakfast, we will head to the Central Pacific area of Costa Rica. On the way you will get close to one of the biggest reptiles of the world. After a couple of hours on the road we will stop at "Rio Grande de Tarcoles" river where we could see magnificent reptiles of 6 meters in size. Then our driver will stop by the bridge so we can see the crocs and take beautiful pictures. Then we will continue towards Manuel Antonio which includes 12 little islands just off the coast. The area itself is full of luxury properties and exclusive restaurants where you can admire the ocean and spectacular sunsets.

Day 7: Manuel Antonio Beach

Today in the afternoon you will enjoy a Sunset Sailing tour on a 70-foot modern catamaran. The boat expedition departs from Quepos marina and we will be transferred to the meeting point by the tour guide. Your tour guide will help you board the Tom Cat catamaran anchored on the marina. Afterwards we will begin our motor sail to one of the many pristine beaches in the area untill the boat will pull into a secluded bay and drop anchor. We could admire the colorful rocky reefs with the snorkel equipment provided. Then we will enjoy a light lunch on the boat. After that we will continue navigating among the bay. You will arrive to the final anchor location around dusk (the tour is also available in the morning). Lastly we will return to the hotel after that and enjoy our free time in the rest of the day.

Day 8: Manuel Antonio - Osa Peninsula (60 km)

Today you will travel south of this beautiful country. Our driver will take you to the local airport in Quepos where you will take a domestic flight to Puerto Jimenez. Upon arrival you will be taken to the remote reserve of Lapa Rios Eco-Lodge with ocean and rainforest views as well as wildlife encounters. Home to monkeys, macaws, pumas, toucans, tree frogs and thousands of other creatures, a trip to this area will be the trip of a lifetime. Tonight we will live in Corcovado.

Day 9: Osa Peninsula

Today we will go to take the rainforest exploration. You can choose any of the activities offered by the lodge. Some alternatives are early and sunset bird tours, waterfall hike, local medicine hike, rainforest ridge walk, Osa trail hike, Matapalo tour, night walk, and etc. We could also take optional tours to Corcovado National Park on own expenses. In the evening we will spend the night in Corcovado.

Day 10: Osa Peninsula - San Jose

Today the lodge staff will take us to the local airport in Puerto Jimenez and then we will take the domestic flight back to San Jose. Arrive by midday, the rest of the day is free for us to explore the city. We could go to visit the central avenue to visit museums and historical buildings or interact with locals and learn about our way of living. Overnight in San Jose.

Day 11: San Jose

Today we will return back home. Your drivers will pick you up at the hotel and take you straight to the International Airport. In Costa Rica you must be at the airport 3 hours prior the departure time.

  • NOTE: For first two days of this tour, guests can carry a bag with your clothes and others for these days. The Maximum luggage weight is 25 pounds per person. The rest of your luggage will stay safely in the Lodge's operations center in Siquirres.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Take tours for details.
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    Up to 30 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    31-45 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    46-60 days prior to departure - No penalty.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
