Day 1 Muir and Sausalito from San Francisco(19 miles)

Departing from San Francisco, we will head north across the Golden Gate Bridge towards two of California's most unique tourist attractions: the Muir Woods and Sausalito. Upon reaching Muir Woods, we will follow the Nature Trail into the heart of its cathedral-like grove. After this, we will continue towards Sausalito, an alluring village of art galleries, quaint shops and waterfront restaurants with views of San Francisco across the bay. At the end of our adventure we may choose to remain in Sausalito for a little longer, as we will return to San Francisco on a ferry boat if we choose not to return on the bus.

San Francisco, the heart of central California's Bay Area, is famous for its iconic Golden Gate Bridge, its unique culture, and its position at the forefront of technological innovation. Beautiful weather and waterfront views await visitors as well!

  • Always Visit
Muir Woods National Monument, across the bay from San Francisco, is a sanctuary for coastal redwoods. Visitors will be awed by these trees that extend themselves high above. This makes an excellent spot for camping and hiking.

Sausalito is north across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. It is the home of Vista Point, the Marine Mammal Center, and beautiful views of San Francisco Bay.
