Day 1 San Francisco - Monterey(122 miles)

Pick up from hotel around 8:30 a.m. Departure by 9:00 a.m. Driving via Half Moon Bay or through Silicon Valley to Castroville. See miles of artichoke and strawberry fields with beautiful views of Monterey Bay. By midday stop at Cannery Row allowing time for lunch. Drive along the seaside flower gardens of Pacific Grove to 17 Mile Drive. See the ocean crash on shore and mansions and golf courses. Stop at Pebble Beach. Continue to Carmel by the Sea, the idyllic village with its art galleries and cottages set in Pine trees. Arrive at your hotel by 5:30.

This coastal city lies in Monterey County. Author John Steinbeck lived in a cottage here for many years. Musicians Janis Joplin and Frank Zappa also lived here for some time.

Monterey was the capital of Alta California under both Spain and Mexico. It was the only port of entry for taxable goods in California. In 1846 the U.S. flag was raised over the Customs House, and California became part of the United States after the ensuing Mexican-American War.

Day 2 Monterey - Salinas - Los Angeles(278 miles)

After a relaxing morning, , at 10:15 Sal's taxi (prepaid) transfers you to Salinas Train Station. This takes about 30 minutes. AMTRAK Train #11 takes us through the Salinas Valley, center of Monterey Country's agricultural region. By King City we see miles and miles of newly planted vineyards. The oil fields appear and then the military installations at Camp Roberts. Soon we reach historic Paso Robles. Drop down to sea level at San Luis Obispo, ocean briefly appears at Pismo Beach. In early evening the train goes past miles of orange groves then through Fillmore and Simi Valley to Glendale and arrive in the heart of Los Angeles at the Union Station around 9:00 p.m. If you are staying in Los Angeles taxicabs to downtown locations cost about $20, twice as much to Hollywood, West Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills or to Los Angeles International Airport. If you are going further south the train connects to Surfliner #794 at 10:05 that arrives in Anaheim at 10:51.

Hotels listed for each tour may change due to special events, conventions or other reasons beyond our control.

Meals when included are with a choice of menu. Dinner includes soup or salad, main course, dessert and coffee, milk or tea. Wine, bar beverages, appetizers or fancy desserts are at extra cost to you. Vegetarian, Kosher or other diets can not be guaranteed but you can order appropriate items.

Baggage checked with us is brought to and from the hotel rooms in Monterey and Solvang on the Cypress tour. In case of loss, our maximum liability is $500.00 or repairs up to $50.00 for damage other than normal wear and tear. Baggage handling is not included for Yosemite tours.

Cancellations and refunds
Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours through web mail at Contact Us. Your refund request will be answered and processed promptly. If you do not receive any reply within 2 business days, that means your request is not received successfully; thus, the tour status remains "confirmed". Please contact us immediately at 617.354.2101.

Cancellation penalties per person as follows; there is 6% handling fee of refund amount.(Notification day and departure day are not counted)

Itinerary Variations
We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

Tour Cancellation
We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (e.g. minimum number of passengers) or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
