This is a great way to see the best of Rio de Janeiro if time is limited! Guests will be picked up from their hotels to begin this tour. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations. We will start the day with a panoramic tour of downtown Rio, passing by the Sambadrome and the Metropolitan Cathedral. We will become familiar with traditional Cinelandia Square, site of historic buildings like the Municipal Theater, the National Library, and the National Museum of Fine Arts. Via Flamengo Park, we will visit the neighborhood of Urca, home to Sugarloaf Mountain, one of the iconic symbols of the city. We will take the cable car to the summit of the mountain for a magnificent view of the city and its surrounding islands. After the first section of the tour, we will relax for lunch at a local seafood restaurant. In the afternoon, we will cross the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon on our way to reach the neighborhood of Cosme Velho, where we will catch the Corcovado Cog Rail. The train travels through the dense rain forest of Tijuca to the summit of Corcovado Mountain, the site of the iconic statue Christ the Redeemer. After spending about an hour taking in the views from the top of the mountain, we will take the train back down, and guests will be returned to their hotels to end this tour.
