    Day 1 Hilo

This tour of Hilo, HI's natural features is headlined by the incomparable Volcanoes National Park, home to the still-active Kilauea, which is constantly erupting and sending lava flowing through the park's landscape.

Our day begins with a drive around the historic town of Hilo, the largest city on the Big Island. Here, we will explore the botanical history with visits to Orchid Gardens and a Macadamia Nut Farm.

From there, we will head out into the tropical wilderness to see such sights as the Rainbow Falls before exploring two one-of-a-kind parks, Volcanoes National Park and Lava Trees National Park. The former is a testament to the ever-changing nature of the world, while the latter speaks to the destruction that can be caused in the wake of Mother Nature's fury.

At the end of the day, guests will be returned to their hotels. Please see "Departure and Returns" for more information.
